A distracted Peppy
AAAAH BECAUSE PEPPY AND VIVIAN HONEYMOONED THERE 😭😭😭😭😭😭 (INFO FROM THE ORIGINAL 1997 SF 64 JAPANESE WEBSITE!! TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH)
“You’ve become so strong, Fox…”
Today we honour those who are no longer with us in the Star Fox universe, canonical and theoretical. James McCloud, Vixy Reinard, Vivian Hare and Randorn. Fox’s mother is supposedly still alive in the canon, but I subscribe to him being orphaned, making James’ death hit harder (presuming he actually is dead, which I believe). Vivian Hare is definitely deceased by the time of Command, but it’s not known when she passed. As for Randorn being here? Well, there’s the Dinosaur Planet connection and he’s pretty much dying throughout that game.
(Headcanon time: Andross killed James and might’ve had a hand in Vixy’s death, Vivian died shortly before Star Fox 64 and Randorn is Krystal’s long deceased mentor from Cerinia as opposed to a father figure.)
James’ outfit has always felt too close to Fox’s. Most games he’s just a minor palette swap, darker fur or a different colour scarf, plus the sunglasses of course. I elected to make him look a bit more grizzled, with additional fur tufts and hints of a beard, along with the nick in his ear. A Fox In Space’s take on James was very definitely in my mind when drawing this, particularly his voice, and it may be one reason I drew his eyes visible through his shades. His flight suit is coloured the same as Fox’s from the SNES game, contrasting the green that Fox wears now. Vixy was very hard to work out. At first she looked too cat-like and trying to work out how to draw her dress was exceptionally difficult, so I simplified it a lot. I am not good at drawing fabrics, especially long flowy ones like her dress had. Vivian and Randorn were, by contrast, very straightforward.
I also experimented with the background a little. It feels more ethereal to me with the added colour.
Can we get a blurb with Vivian and General Pepper, please? That could be something. Thanks as always, man :)
Send 2 Star Fox characters for a short blurb!
Ooh this is going to be fun! Hope you don't mind that Pepper is out of uniform for this one.
And the Hare family relationship chart
I dont really have much to do with Lucy and Vivian in my project BUUUT funfact my Vivian was also a pilot! The reason at her age illness was enough to take her down was because of years operating an improperly manufactured shuttle, leading to the weakening of her muscles and bones in her time out in space
Lucy also becomes a pilot but Peppy Vehemently disapproves after what happened to him, Vivian, and his friends, I can see them becoming abit estranged in the future, Peppy just doesnt want the cycle to repeat
MEEEERRRYYY CHRISTMASSS!!!
Early Xmass drawing but I'll be busy tomorrow and the following Christmas Day, so I'm sharing this idea I had today! Drawing this made me very happy.
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas holiday!
Yesterday, my family and I watched the adaptation of Mickey's Christmas Carol (I'd never seen it before; I remember seeing the version with Jim Carrey—I liked that one, lol—) and it inspired me to do my own interpretation with Star Fox characters, ESPECIALLY WITH MY BELOVED GREEDY PIG.
In my interpretation, combined with the Christmas's carol story and SF canon, Pigma became quite the businessman (mercenary or bounty hunter, I don't know if they're the same thing, lol, the point is he's rich!) after murdering his biggest rival, James. Unfortunately, he left Vixy (Pigma's failed love from the past) a widow with her young child, while Vivian is still trying to figure out if there's any heart left in Vixy's former love (there isn't). The rest is history, although here I don't see Pigma trying to seek redemption per se, but rather that he accepts the fact that he murdered someone and ruined a special day for Vixy and Fox.
peppy and james bestied so hard that they both ended up as widowers
