voice training is a humiliation ritual.
Okay quick tip for people who've recently begun vocal training.
If your throat starts to feel sore, it does NOT mean you've given your voice a good workout, the strain is BAD.
If you're trying to go deeper like I am, go low but not to the point where it hurts, keep the muscles in your neck relaxed. Try to open up your throat more and lower your larynx. I'm not professional, so if you want more details I'd suggest looking up some vocal training videos.
Point is: STRAIN BAD. DON'T DO IT.
Also DRINK WATER AND DON'T FORGET TO GO ON VOCAL REST
After learning that a lot of trans mascs were struggling to voice train due to lack of trans masc voice training resources, I decided to create a trans masculine voice training guide to help combat the lack of trans masc voice training resources. If you find this guide helpful then please spread the word! No transmasc should have to struggle with voice training due to lack of resources. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JOr3wMophYTkRg8vQ8kBRCkJ6a9nPlmmzjJYZKBk-G0/edit?usp=drivesdk The guide not only tells you what you should do but it also tells you what you shouldn't do, common myths about trans masculine voice training and points out harmful or generally useless advice that often circulates around in the trans masc voice training community #trans #voicetraining #voicetrainingtips #ftm #transman #transmasculine #transmasc #transboy #transmascnonbinary #transmascenby #transgendermale #transguy #transdude #transmanvoice #transgender #femaletomale #femaletoenby #femaletomaletransgender https://www.instagram.com/p/CPMMDZZJopE/?utm_medium=tumblr

catch me cryin bc i’m so excited about this! I recorded this lil ditty courtesy of @celosiaa-fics / @celosiaa . Its a podfic of one of their fanfics and it was so! fun! I have a couple more in the works too. It just feels right for TMA content to exist in audio form.

I think, to me, it is a boon to be a transman as opposed to a cis man because in a few years my voice will deepen, but I'll still know how to use my voice to make high-pitched voices/sounds, and when I have a beard and look more 'passing' masc, I'll be able to pull both a convincing Kirby "puyo!" and a Dio Brando and y'know what? If this is the exchange I am given for not being born with a penis, I'll call it square, god; this works.
You may have noticed that this weeks "Finding Dee" is a re-run. I will be running a few on the better, older strips for a few weeks while I get caught back up.
The simple reality is that I've gotten a little creatively burned out with the strip and it's been a struggle to create. A big part of that comes from it being based on my own life and that I often need to challenge myself to dig into topics that are stressful to create new strips.
"Finding Dee" will be back in a few weeks new material, but for right now, I need to step back and give myself a break. I hope you all understand.
