Has anyone ever noticed how ridiculous the paladins' shields actually are? I mean, don't get me wrong, they do look pretty cool, but they're completely impractical. I mean look at this

The middle of the shield is more narrow than the top and bottom. What are you gonna pretect like that? Maybe your head? Certainly not your body

Lance is crouching down and trying to hide behind his shield, and even being the twig he is he's unable to completely cover himself. If the galra drones were smarter and better shots then all they'd have to do is shoot Lance's ass. But in addition to not being able to cover any of their actual bodies, they're also not even able to be used like a proper shield. A shield is generally worn so that the widest parts are covering the user's head and the user's body and

It's clear that the Voltron shields do not have that lurxury of decent shields. So while the shields have a nice design, they just don't do anything to protect the user. I also think that shields that actually do their job would look pretty cool. Of anyone wants to come up with a design for a cool new shield for the paladins, dm me and I'll post
