We have Get to Know Me boards for our patients that we fill out on admission. I love them because I can glance at it and instantly have inane talking points when I want to cheer patients up or distract them from a painful procedure. Anyway I had this cute 90 year old woman today and when I looked at her board under Favorite Movie, it said Avatar. I was stunned by this, literally no one actually likes James Cameron’s Avatar (or, the other less likely option the live action ATLA movie). I stared at it all day, haunted by the very idea. I was too afraid to ask about it because either this lady has absolutely no fears when it comes to bad movies or she sees into the 9th dimension where the movie is good.
