Dice Camera Action! kitties :3 (2017)
Don’t know why, but lately I’ve had many people liking my old Waffle Crew posts from literal years ago. These are posts that have ghosted out of existence for me. Some I forgot I ever posted to begin with. And it’s different accounts, different people. It’s not as if one account went through all my DCA posts and liked a bunch. And it’ll skip a day or so. But then there it is. Another like from a different account on a different DCA post.
So I’m not sure if anyone’s gonna read this or not, but I had to get this out- I miss DCA like hell.
I was a fan of Nate’s, and that’s how I heard about Dice, Camera, Action. I had never known anything about D&D until that first stream. Everything I know about D&D and the community, I learned because of DCA and the Waffle Crew. I couldn’t have asked for a more lovable cast and DM. I couldn’t have asked for more dedicated players who would cultivate a culture of pure light and love. I’ve watched so many other D&D streams hoping for something similar to DCA, but none can compare. Watching Holly and Anna on things like the C-Team and Acq Inc feels so empty and hollow and depressing. And now that the C-Team is over, there’s an even more lonely feeling in the pit of my stomach. The end of an another era.
I never felt the same amount of found-family love in any other stream. I never found players who were so wholeheartedly in love and actively trying to grow their characters like Holly, Jared, Anna, and Nate. I never found a DM who actively pushed and loved his players the way Chris did. They were such an explosively beautiful combination. A perfect storm. From the trauma of Curse of Strahd to the change that came with Storm King’s Thunder to the unpredictability that was Tomb of Annihilation to the charm that was Waterdeep Dragon Heist.
Thank you to Nate for introducing me to anime and video games and punk music and D&D.
Thank you to Anna for showing me that women can be girly and tough. I genuinely believe Anna transformed my views in the best way possible.
Thank you to Holly for giving me the inspiration to love myself and care for my own needs. And for showing me how I can be witchy and love and care for animals everyday.
Thank you to Jared for showing me how to write and play a transformative and inspirational character. Diath Woodrow still stands as an all-time favorite character of mine.
Thank you to Chris for not only investing in these players and stories but for showing me the depth and beauty and community D&D can have.
I don’t think people understand how much DCA genuinely changed my life. But it did. And I miss it like hell. Thank you to the Waffle Crew.
By popular-ish demand, I've made this piece of Waffles Inc (Dice Camera Action + C Team) fanart available on RedBubble.

Wafflefam, I need your brains please.
Now, I just want to preface this with a couple of things:
1. Yes, this probably would be better off on the subreddit but I don’t think anyone ever uses it anymore tbh (and ngl Reddit scares me right now. I didn’t need to know about how some people feel about a female YouTuber/streamer I really look up to).
2. I recently got into the show. Like I’m talking last year at the start of quarantine. I’m currently on episode like 111 or 112. So if this is something that’s mentioned/discussed in a later episode try to keep it spoiler free in your answer.
3. It’s a very dumb request/thought process/question whatever the hell you want to call it.
4. Yes, I’m very much so aware that this NPC is a Curse of Strahd centric NPC that was just reoccurring and was adapted (for lack of a better term) for the DCA-verse.
Okay, on to the meat of the post. So as most of, if not all of us, are aware Paultin can break the 4th wall and has some degree of 4th wall breaking knowledge. We know he knows about Perkins to an extent, he knows some pop culture stuff (Diath not being Naruto enough), and even knows to an extent some of Nate’s lyrics (popping his head in to say “I understood that reference” when Perkins had an NPC quote a couple of lines from “Phantom.”)
Recently, a new sourcebook was announced. So I guess what I’m getting at is would Paultin’s 4th wall knowledge allow him to know that this book exists and was “written” by resident parent killer Van Richten? And if so, what do y’all think would be his reaction to it?
I've been watching Dice Camera Action recently and I'm really enjoying it! Made some Evelyn art for my Redbubble.
