Artfight attack on my wonderful roommate @roguereblion for their original X-Men character, Will! I’ve been taking notes on the Marvel Rivals art style for a lot of these, and it felt very fitting to mimic it for this one.
Chapter four is posted! It's a shorter chapter this time, as the beginning of what was chapter four got long enough as I was writing it to become a full chapter on its own, and I wanted to give the rest of the chapter the proper space to breathe as we fully get into it.
I think that's the last time the fic will have to get extended again - I've got four thousand more words in the drafts already for the rest of the fic, I just have to sit down and finish out the scenes. This has been a delightful journey and I've loved all the support this fic has gotten!

Id moved my updates about my fic writing to my personal sideblog to not overtake the art posts too much, but now that I'm getting some art done at a better pace I'm bringing them back over here for more visibility!
I've been so locked in on Nightcrawler/Wolverine for MONTHS and every time I think I'm ready to put the keyboard down I get another idea. So here's what I've been working on!
Like Seein' A Damn Ghost - Set during Uncanny X-Force (2010) after Kurt's death, as Logan gets some closure through a conversation with Kurt's darker alternate reality self. Made my beta reader cry. 5,431 words. https://archiveofourown.org/works/82757611
A Little Longer - Logan wakes from a nightmare with Kurt by his side. Though as much as he is comforted, he is fearful of getting him hurt. 2,132 words. https://archiveofourown.org/works/83023346
A Heaven All It's Own - Set soon after Kurt's resurrection in Amazing X-Men (2013), as Logan finally faces his unspoken love for Kurt in the overwhelming emotions of their reunion. 6,293 words. https://archiveofourown.org/works/83588591
I'd Always Come Back For You - A retelling of Ultimate Wolverine (2024) #1 from Kurt's point of view, as Kurt meets his end at the claws of his mind-controlled dearest companion. 3,383 words. Content warning for POV character death. https://archiveofourown.org/works/85423281
Can You Learn To Love Me Again - My current multichapter fanfic! Logan loses his memory of Kurt during a mission gone wrong, and as Kurt leads them home, some of their unspoken feelings are able to come to light without the barriers of their history. I write Kurt to be asexual in this one, and that experience will be explored here. 16,323 words (so far! 4/6 chapters) https://archiveofourown.org/works/86441851
All of my works are sfw and always will be - i'm here for the sweet moments, the angsty moments, and the exploration of their characters together. Enjoy!
Based on uncanny x force, Wolverine having to see his dead friend in the variant from the messed up world that made nightcrawler “evil”. Hence the evil version of Kurt
Another character reference sheet! A beloved NPC of a D&D campaign I ran years ago that never finished, but I've still carried him with me in my heart.
Valark and his twin sister, Virith, were two shadow dragons hatched in the tunnels of the Underdark, and found by a priestess of Lolth. Seeing potential in their strength and shapeshifting ability as tools for her own use, she took the twins in secret as her own. Their first mission was to kill her own failing children and to assume their identities.
Valark has long carried resentment for the particular part he was meant to play. By chance, it was his adoptive mother's male child that he was meant to replace - and in Menzoberranzan, men are considered inferior. Though Valark knew himself to be something far greater than those around him, he would always be looked down on, never allowed to reach the heights of his sister for the same achievements, never able to be respected for how truly powerful he was.
Only his mother knew - and for her acknowledgement, he would do anything.
On his first mission on the surface world, to locate a deserter mage from their house, is where he met the party. Useful tools, at first. Then, a source of entertainment.
But the more time he spent about the party, the more he came to genuinely enjoy their company. Sure, they didn't trust him. They would be fools to. But he was beginning to find something close to the acceptance, the respect, that he wanted.
There was only one problem - his sister had already infiltrated them as well, taking the place of a little goblin girl that had earned their trust and adoration.
He couldn't let his sister take the credit for work so expertly done by him. The moment would be his. It should be him anyway, shouldn't he? He was the one who knew them best.
He would betray then first.
He couldn't be their friend, not after this. But he could be their best enemy.

Valark was very inspired by Goro Akechi from Persona 5 and Catra from She-Ra and the Processes Of Power while I was first making him. He's my horrible wet cat who I only refer to with affectionate insults. He's obsessed with power and respect, but at the same time so dearly wants a place to belong - but he's going to do a lot of wrong before he can figure himself out. You mix draconic instincts with a Menzoberranzan upbringing and and you get a guy with issues. He’s a delight!
