Do you ever just crash out because you remember like a majority of the marauders fandom hcs walburga as the literal devil.

Like no, she probably wasn't a good mother, but she probably TRIED to be. She grew up in that same environment, so it would make sense for her to try.

Like take Barty for example, SOME people use the excuse "he was abused" to validate everything he did, then they shit on Walburga and make her the absolute devil.

Like no, she wasn't perfect, no she wasn't the perfect mother, but I personally hc that the abuse was mainly Orion. She loved her kids. She cared for them. She didn't know how to express it tho, because she never got that. She didn't know how to express her anger in a healthy way.

Call Your Mom ft marauders

So we've all heard Noah Kahan's song "Call Your Mom" (I would hope, eyeballing any of you that haven't).

And the typical marauders take away from this is generally a Sirius/James kind of sitch, but I beg for you to see why it matters that it is Sirius singing to Reggie.

His little brother, who is stuck in that house.

I want you to consider the implication that Sirius would call HIS MOTHER, to make sure that his little brother was okay.

Sirius, who went no contact after running from his abusive family, calling his mum for the first time in years, just to beg her to check that her favoured son was still alive.

Sirius, who has made the harsh acceptance that though his mother despises him, she will not turn down a warning in regards to Regulus.

Sirius, who breaks down on the phone with his mother, when they discover that Regulus has left a note in his room.

Sirius and his mother, for a moment, in sync.

I headcanon that Sirius was Walbugra's favourite son. Like Sirius was the perfect Heir all that jazz without the blood purity propaganda. She also liked him the most because he is as sadistic as she is.

I headcanon that when Walburga finally disowned Sirius she cried really hard because she was hoping, praying that sirius not being a blood purist was just a phase.

I headcanon that when Walburga saw Sirius rebelling she made Regulus take Heir classes at home, a threat that "you won't be the heir anymore" but sirius didn't care.

I headcanon that when Regulus was little he saw that Sirius was going to take all the Heir responsibilities and thought "oh, I don't need those classes, I can make my own money and go to france". Regulus had it all planned out until Walburga started threating Sirius that Regulus would be the Heir. Regulus didn't want to be the heir, but he still took heir classes because his mother wanted him to, he tried to exceed expectations that his mother gave him but nothing was ever enough.

Because Regulus wasn't a sadistic guy at heart. Sure he was a blood purist, the perfect pureblood heir, but he was never the perfect pureblood Black Heir. He wasn't as sadistic as Sirius, he wasn't as reckless as Sirius and Walburga hated that for her Heir.

Regulus started hating Sirius for running from the responsibilities he was supposed to have. Why does Regulus have to be the heir? Regulus preferred to be the spare who lived in France with a company and a small happy family with a nice pureblood wife. But that dream was useless when being the Black heir.
