The New Warriors vol 2 4 marked the introduction of Heavy Mettle, including the first appearances of Warbow, Blackwing, Riot, Barracuda, and Stronghold (Firestrike/Dalton Beck had already been introduced in The New Warriors vol 2 2). They were created by Jay Faerber and Karl Lerschl. The issue had a cover date of January 2000. The New Warriors had a new base in the form of an abandoned firehouse provided by Dalton Beck after their Crashpad got destroyed last issue. The Valor family use the weapons of dragons against them. They wear armor made from their scales or bones, forge them into their bows, and make arrows out of their teeth and claws.

Ren is still a rising fledgling in the campaign and doesn't have such equipment yet, but it is rather fun to imagine nonetheless...

My bow is a 95lb @ 30 inch draw Hedeby bow

That puts me at 15lbs more than Will, and 5lbs less than Halt from Ranger's Apprentice, aiming eventually for 120lbs@ 30 inches

It’s definitely one that works, just can hurt a little bit making that pinch with my bony fingers—shooting glove makes it easier. So I extend the thumb to hold the nocks down (the muscle and bone structure in my thumbs is messed up as I’ve grown ‘cause of my EDS—the first digit makes a 90 degree angle just making a thumbs-up) and the forefinger is already up over the odd feather. So for me it’s tricky to decide which to use. Have to keep testing I guess

💥 - do you prefer the serious or more light-hearted content?

tbh i like a mix of both, but if its too silly then i start to lose interest. a lot of the serious part 2 episodes were really well-made, especially 69 and 99... i loved those sm. part 4 has a lot of good serious episodes too!!

📖 - have you read any of the manga (original series and/or otherwise)?

i haven’t read the original series and i do not plan on it <3 but i HAVE read a few chapters of the Y series 🥺 i liked it a lot and really wish i could find the rest somewhere. I ALSO. really want to read the lupin viii manga but 1) i dont think it was translated and 2) there are. NO scans anywhere ive looked
