Small one wanted a tornado cake for his birthday. So, we made chocolate cupcakes, made grey cream cheese icing, and then used a blackberry as structure and covered it all with an inverted tornado of icing. The pretzels are meant to look like sticks caught up in the wind. Not really a Pinterest mom, but it was lots of fun. @weatherchannel @weatherunderground #weather #baking #tornado #birthday #weathernerd #kids #childhood #mommy #mommyson #howto #pinterestmom #cake #decorating #cakedecorating

We’re having pretty severe thunderstorms ⛈ in North Jersey right now. Violent and beautiful and humbling. There’s evidence of rotation and the wind gusts had to hit 50 MPH. I took a a million pictures that I’ll share later but I wanted to share this one with you all. The picture of the lightening strike itself off to the left isn’t really that impressive.... BUT! What it did to the rest of the sky is simply amazing. Those colors are like something I’ve never seen before. #weather #weathernerd #thunder #thunderstorm #thunderstorms #science #nature #seasons #beautiful and #violent A harsh reminder of how small we really are. There is #art in these #storms and they do help me reflect, refocus, and reenergize. The stupid bullshit drama that has been weighing on me for days has been lifted with a little help from #Thor
Why guess the weather when you can measure it yourself?
Let’s be real—weather apps are fine, but they’re often pulling data from some station miles away. What’s happening in your actual backyard? That’s where a wireless weather station comes in.
I’ve been using one to track wind, rain, temperature, and even humidity right from home. It’s honestly kind of addictive (and super useful). Whether you’re into gardening, storm-watching, or just want better info for your day, having your own weather data changes the game.
✨ Know when rain is actually coming 🌬️ Track wind speed in real time 🌿 Plan watering without the guesswork 📡 Even hook it up to smart systems like pergolas or sprinklers
We’ve got a bunch of options up at weathershack.com—from simple starter models to full pro setups. If you're into weather, it's worth checking out.
Stay curious, stay dry ☔
