Werewolves/werecoyotes/kitsune/chimeras all acting a little bit like the animal they’re so heavily associated with. They’re so obviously human in most ways, but the supernatural part is far more pronounced. Like they kinda leaned into it in the show but not enough at all.

Senior pack members having pretty structured superiority dynamics over the younger, especially when the moon is pulling their supernatural side out more.

Like I absolutely think Scott would still be a really patient alpha/general pack leader to his pack members, but should he still snap his teeth and bite at the others faces? Absolutely. Should he have to remind himself to be softer with his humans? 100%.

And like Liam, he’s a puppy at first, that’s so freaking clear. He’s a little shithead too and obviously he has the IED so Scott corrects him with a little more severity, and yet most of the time he’s corrected it’s still so soft handed because the other reactive pack members he’s had or dealt with always did better with stern softness, take Isaac for example.

Malia is a totally jerk, coyote behavior to a T. And she was wild for a long time so it’s even more pronounced. She’s comfortable in her pack, but do know she’ll more often be found around the edges of the pack still, just like Theo, though he settles for a weirder outcast middle ground instead. Because he’s a coyote like her, but he’s a wolf like them. He wants pack in close vicinity on his wolf side but the urge for the loose connection and space to do his own thing rings loud and clear from the coyote.

Hayden has an even more difficult pack connection. Now let’s just say she was fully roped into the pack for good or for a period, not just an outcast outlier that was connected by a rope from Liam, she’s a mixture of a pack animal and something so profoundly solitary that you’re lucky if you EVER get to see one in your life time of searching. She’s territorial of her space too. Her urges would probably be so fickle, she’d feel like a mess in her own brain and body. She wants pack, has the same need the other wolves do, but she’s solitary, she wants nothing more than to round up what’s hers and take it back to her safe space, the cat just doesn’t make it easy.

Kira is easier, it’s obvious and honest in her character as is. She’s chatty, friendlier and a little socially awkward. But she’s also head strong, she’s territorial too, so she gets a bit defensive of her things (people) in the pack. She’s very much so tummy up though, because she’s Kira. She’s kickass, she will defend what she deems she needs too, but like a fox, she’s shyly social and submissive in a way. (I say this in a completely positive way, she’s honestly one of my favorite characters and her heart is so dear to me. She just wants to belong so bad and to me she always will omg.)

I’d love to touch on Corey more than I can but due to his nature of being a chimera of weirder standings than Theo and Hayden, I can’t say much I’ll be honest. He’s kinda perfectly chameleon tho, my little fly on the wall they could never make me hurt you.

Back to my wolves, let’s look at my beloved Derek. He’s so wounded this is so known, I don’t like how it’s ignored in the show, but he’s probably a super frustrating mixture of lonely too. My lone wolf who deserves the world. I think once things settle down in his life, as much as they can, and he becomes pack, like fully, he’d probably be a very quiet older wolf, held in esteem even by Scott cause he’s strong and he’s become trustworthy through and through and he provides so he’s respected, but when he was younger and more wild with his decision making and lack luster leading skills it was very obvious he couldn’t provide in a proper way, it’s why his pack split and left him, things like that’ll happen in the wild. He was weak in a way, so they left to find better. Then he was back in his lone wolf ways, packless, no family, just weak. It’s no wonder he fought so hard to look strong.

Pack humans are so very human, but honestly living with a bunch of supernaturals acting a little more animal like than canon would probably make them all a little wildsided lol.
