i love this show as much as the next person but i cant go about the revival without acknowledging disney channel's racism at bay. like im not a fan of "[x] eas canceled in favor of [y]" rhetoric, but we have to think about WHY a show that's already had 4 seasons, 2 movies, and a semi-continuation in MML was picked up for 2 more seasons while a show like Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (for example) was axed after 2 seasons. why did Disney choose to revive an already successful show with a predominantly White cast while canceling other far more diverse cartoons? (especially when keeping in mind that this is the only Povenmire cartoon without a Black character in the main cast)

this isn't necessarily criticism levied at Dwampy or the production crew (though racism within the show itself is an entirely different discussion), it's just been something i've been ruminating on. and while yes, i really liked s5 and what they're doing with the show for the most part, i just can't shake the fact that the revival's existence feels representative of Disney's antiBlackness and White bias at play.

(also yes I know The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder also has a s5 order, but Disney really isn't promoting/prioritizing the Proud Family IP the way it's doing w/ P&F. afaik, no Louder and Prouder seasons past s1, nor any seasons from the original series, have been broadcast on Disney Channel in the past few years)
