There were times when Harvey was... not Harvey. It was hard to tell- he was good at pretending to be him, no matter how much Harvey insisted they were completely different, but as Bruce got to know them better and better, he was starting to learn how to coax him out.
He never gave Bruce a name. Not back then. But there were moments, just here and there, where he seemed to be testing Bruce, seeing if it was safe to be out around him. When he winked at Bruce from across the room, or let his real thoughts show through, showing the point where Harvey's faith in the legal system and his doubts diverged, Bruce knew it was him.
The most noticeable thing was always his temper. It was harder for him to suppress sometimes, and around Bruce, he didn't always try. More than once, Bruce found himself sitting upside down on his bed, listening as the man sharing a body with his best friend paced up and down his dorm, seething about whatever had driven him crazy that day. Sometimes it was the ignorance of a teacher. Sometimes it was his own DID. Sometimes it was a case file he couldn't stand. Bruce had always liked to listen, watching the way he gestured- bigger than Harvey, when they were alone, and more grandiose- and tracing the sharp flow of his words. His rants felt like a gift, like a rare glimpse into who he was.
And then there was the party.
Harvey had seemed nervous before it. Harvey had never really liked parties, always feeling awkward and out of place among the bodies, uncomfortable with the drinking and the noise. He went because Bruce did, but Bruce knew he didn't really like it, no matter what reassurances he gave Bruce. That didn't change when they got there, nor did it when he finally slipped out, making his escape to the roof.
Bruce found him there, knees held against his chest as he stared out at the campus in the distance. When he sat down next to Harvey, Harvey leaned into him, pressing their shoulders together.
"Over it?" Bruce asked, threading his fingers into Harvey's. Bruce had never been that affectionate, but he knew it helped Harvey, grounding him with touch.
"I hate the smell of alcohol," Harvey muttered, rubbing his thumb across the back of Bruce's hand. "Did he ever tell you that?"
Bruce blinked, glancing over at his friend. "Who?"
"Harvey."
Things fell into place. He'd never said it before, outright like that. It felt like trust, warm against Bruce's ribs. "No. He said he didn't like drinking."
"He probably doesn't remember it as well as I do. It's easier." The man next to him leaned his head on Bruce's shoulder, soft curls tickling against Bruce's jaw. "I couldn't take it anymore."
"Are you okay?" Bruce asked.
"Yeah. It's just uncomfortable, like someone dragging their nails over your skin."
"I thought you liked that."
He snorted, turning his face against Bruce's shoulder. "There's a difference between you rubbing my back and someone clawing the shit out of your wrists. You know how you feel when you touch velvet?"
"Oh." Bruce made a face, shaking loose a shiver. "Eugh."
"Yeah." His voice was amused. "I'll be fine. I just needed some fresh air."
"We can go," Bruce offered.
He hummed. "In a minute. It's nice up here."
Somehow, Bruce didn't think he was talking about the view. Bruce turned his nose against the other's man's hair, squeezing his hand. "Okay," he said softly. "In a minute."

This is lightly based off the challenge from B99.
Wanna Bet?
“Guess who just solved the Richardson case?” Jason swaggered into the conference room, file in his hand. He tossed it down on the table, going up to the white board at the front of the room and replacing the 90 written under his last name to a 91.
Dick’s arms were crossed, pretending to be pissed. “Awesome,” he said. “While you were working on that, I took care of the Deliccui case, the Boyardo case, the Montoya case, and the missing puppy case.” Dick pulled the files out of his bag along with a newspaper. His smiling face was on on front page, holding a little girl and her lost puppy.
A few of the people in the room whooped and some “oohed” at them. Dick walked up to the front of the room, plucked the marker out of Jason’s hand and replaced the 90 under his own last name with a 94.
“Better get ready,” Dick said as he set the marker down. “I hear your speech writing skills could use some work.”
“Don’t put your suit up just yet, Grayson,” Jason replied. “This bet isn’t over until one of us hits one hundred.”
@whipbogard asked for “You are being extra sweet today.” im still on my twomatches shit so lets goooo

Sunrise in Gotham was a quiet event. By the time it rolled around, most of the city wasn’t awake to see it. The underbelly would have long since retired for the night, and the average citizen wasn’t yet up for work. There were no days in Two Face’s recent memory where he’d seen it, but he had to admit, it was sort of beautiful. The first rays of the sun crested over the cityscape through his kitchen window, turning everything shades of purple and gold.
In the quiet of the early morning, the only sound was that of the coffee maker bubbling gently. Even Matches was silent, his eyes shut and his head dipped toward his mug.
He looked unfairly beautiful at this time of day, his hair a ruffled mess, his bare skin touched with gold. The blanket around his shoulders was slipping, just enough that Two Face could make out the purpling bruises around his collar and the silvery scars that carved up his skin. But his expression took the cake. The stupid grin Two Face knew so well was nowhere to be seen, replaced by something quieter, and more sincere. He looked... peaceful. Relaxed.
Two Face set his coffee down, reaching over to gently pull Matches’s blanket closer around his shoulders. The gesture caught Matches’s attention, and as he looked up, Two Face kissed his cheek, fond and warm.
“You’re awful sweet today,” Matches teased, his fingers curling around Two Face’s hip.
At his pull, Two Face leaned easily into him, stealing a soft kiss. “Maybe I’m just tired. You did keep me up literally all night.”
Matches snorted, brushing his lips against Two Face’s jaw. “I kept you up?”
Two Face hummed, letting his hands slide along Matches’s sides, around his waist. His head dipped to press slow kisses against Matches’s neck, gentle and lingering.
The way Matches sighed was all fond, his hand lifting to card through Two Face’s hair. “Maybe coffee was the wrong choice. Might be time to call it a mornin’ and turn in.”
“Don’t you have to go soon?” Two Face asked, without bothering to lift his head.
“Well, let’s say I don’t. You gonna kick me out?”
There was a picture. Matches back in his bed, soft in the morning light and curled close against him as they drifted off. He squeezed Matches’s hips, kissing into the crook of his neck. “Never.”
Matches opened the blankets, setting aside his coffee before he pulled Two Face into them, kissing his head. His embrace felt so much warmer than the air beyond it, comfortable and loving. Two Face folded easily into it, stooping to tuck his face in against Matches’s shoulder and pressing close.
“Don’t get too comfy,” Matches said, amused. “I’m gonna kick you out in a moment so we can go to bed.”
“I don’t take orders from subordinates,” Two Face mumbled.
Matches snorted. “That’s not how I remember tonight.”
Two Face pinched his ass, making him start. He only laughed, though, grabbing Two Face’s hands and starting to extract himself from Two Face’s hold. “Okay, bedtime. C’mon.”
Pulling away was the last thing he wanted to do. But Matches’s smile was fond and easy, and the thought of warm blankets and Matches’s body pressed close against his own drew him in, guiding his footsteps as he followed him back to his room.

I think this might have been one of the first JD artworks I encountered and I have Whippy and his UNREAL ability to draw these boys looking completely and utterly besotted with each other to thank for sending me down this rabbit hole. I have so many feelings for this one, I could stare it all day and would still be crying over it by the end of it.
