Explored Wicker Park a little bit last weekend and tried @theperchchicago ! Such a cool place! Great vibe, filled with plants and bright and spacious. Plus great food! I never rave about veggies but their roasted veggie platter was next level- with fire roasted artichokes, asparagus, heirloom carrots, broccolini, and cauliflower with fun aiolis and sauces. We also got the ribs which were super tender and flavorful. Great neighborhood spot! Shameless style house in Wicker Park; that’s a tree growing through the set-back gazebo. Perhaps inspiration for an AU where Mickey grew up here and because Terry is such a terror the neighborhood can’t get rid of them, and the gentrification is happening around them. Ian and Mickey meet as adults when Ian moves to the neighborhood. He’s a manager at a coffeehouse/wine bar (inspired by Foxtrot, which has glass frontage on the sidewalk and would make Ian very visible to Mickey passing by). Unbeknownst to Ian, his frequent run-ins with the sharp tongued, brooding hottie are not by chance. Will Ian be the catalyst for Mickey to finally break free of Terry? A Fox in Wicker Park (maybe title too close to A Witch in WP, but I love that one!)

Another idea: The Other Milkoviches, where Sandy lives here and Mickey finds refuge with her. Still meets Ian.
