Author's note: I was gonna write another Lacey piece, but this came out instead; this happens in the period of time Anna is Lilith's maid

Lilith

She should have known better than to keep having that drink. The familiar bitter taste had tipped her off eventually, but whatever had been laced with it had hidden it until she'd already sipped five times. But she couldn't stop at five sips. She had to take a sixth. Stupid.

"Pairs, gotta... pair. Even... pair." she mumbled. Or thought to herself. It was hard to concentrate on anything as the world tilted from side to side.

The weight of George's arm holding her upright made the helpless feeling less as she struggled to find her footing. The heels had been such a fucking mistake. But they'd matched her dress. And today was a matching day.

The car was quiet and dark. She liked to be in the car. And whined when George went to take her out.

Oh.

They were home already.

"What happened?"

She blinked, struggling to focus. Was she in her room? It seemed like her room now. But everything was spinning. And too bright. Why was it so bright?

As if someone had read her mind, the lights dimmed. Angel on earth, whoever it was. They smelled like Anna. Anna. A real angel on earth. So nice. And pretty. Really pretty. Too pretty.

Lilith felt herself smiling like a loon, imagining Anna being the one putting her to bed right now. She couldn't bring herself to care less, though. She wished it was Anna. She liked Anna. A lot. It was scary.

She sank into her blankets with a sigh, still thinking of Anna as she wrapped her arms around her pillow to fall asleep.

Author's note: debating if her "pillow" is really a pillow or if it's actually Anna, lol; planning on writing Anna's pov of this scene eventually, so we'll find out!

Whumpmasinjuly Day 15: Dizzy

First Person POV, Strange character, strange world

I couldn't think of anything at first, but those first couple lines popped into my head and I just ran with them.

I can't tell you when it started.

I can't tell you if I'm crazy. Or if this is real.

But I can tell you the day it started.

May 1st, 2071.

Spinning. The world started spinning again.

"Again?" You ask

Yes again, it stopped long before any one alive now was born.

It started again.

It made me sick for a weak.

"That's the wrong weak." You tell me

Without questioning why you can see spoken words.

How often do you questions rules as they are presented to you?

No I don't mean laws, but rules.

Yes there is a difference.

It's strange you don't know that.

Let me get us back on track. Why did you want to talk to me?

"You put up a flyer, saying you'd be here if anyone wanted to listen to what you had to say." You explained

"And can you stop doing that?"

I refused.

When the world started spinning, a music started to play as well. Did you hear it?

You didn't, no one did.

Maybe in their dreams, but those aren't real.

At least that's what what we've convinced ourselves.

That's what we've been taught

Rule 0 Dreams aren't real.

I smiled, you're giving me that look.

The same look I got 5 years ago, the first time I asked someone about the rules

They had no idea what I was talking about either.

Ah, that's not part of the song.

But as I was saying.

Music started to play.

And we started dancing to it, on command

Like puppets.

Like wind up dolls.

"Why did you put up that flyer?"

Because.

The last song starts tomarrow,

and it will end three weeks after.

What will happen then do you think?

When the spinning stops

DAY 15: DIZZY

"And I pray to Castiel to get his feathery ass down here. Bobby and I have a hunt to run and Sam can't come with us. I'm not praying for a babysitter— just glance at him once or twice."

Castiel shakes his head, torn between fondness and annoyance.

The door creaks open; Castiel strides inside carefully, avoiding the two tripwires in the entryway. "Sam?" He inches into the living room.

"Hi, Cass," a rough voice greets. Even hunched over, hands braced on the desk, Sam stands a significant amount over Castiel. A real moose of a man, Crowley would say. "Did Dean send you?"

"He requested I check on you, yes."

"I don't need a babysitter," Sam groans, shaking his head.

"He was very specific about this not being babysitting," Castiel responds. He watches Sam sway dangerously, tilting his head. "Perhaps you should sit down."

"I'm okay," Sam mumbles lowly, "Just dizzy."

Castiel guides Sam back to the couch with a steady hand; the human complains under his breath, but doesn't pull away. Cass sits him back down gently. "It feels unwise to be spinning in your condition."

Sam's eyes unfocus, considering. "I wasn't spinning."

"You said you were dizzy," Castiel hums. He's not great at the whole comforting-people thing, and without his abilities he can't heal Sam, but he can... supply a blanket. And perhaps heat a can of soup, as Dean had done for him once. "Is that not what happens when humans spin around too much?"

"I mean, yeah," Sam mumbles. He blinks languidly, pursing his lips. "But sometimes when we're sick it just... happens." He tilts his head back against the couch. "Probably a reason. Couldn't tell you what it was."

"Your bodies are so fascinating," Castiel huffs, almost laughing. He pulls a comforter around Sam's shoulders and watches him melt into the warmth. "You make mucus and you overheat. Those are your defense mechanisms."

"Alright, tough guy," Sam mumbles. He's already dozing, words blurring together. "What do Angels do when they get sick?"

"We don't."

He drawls out a hum, brows furrowing. "That's not fair."

Castiel, doing his best human sympathy impression, pats Sam on the head.

...

He is an Angel of the Lord. He has commanded armies, withstood the harshest of tortures, stood in the way of Archangels. He can do anything! He is Castiel!

He will not be thwarted by... by a micro-wave!

Foolish human hot-box. If he had his powers, he could heat the soup with his Grace. It would be faster and probably safer. Instead he is stuck trying to figure out why the micro-wave seems to be quite desperate to explode.

He'd attempted to microwave the whole can (seemed like the logical solution) and had immediately stopped it when it'd begun to spit sparks. He'd spooned it into a bowl and put the bowl in the microwave and it had sparked again. He'd tried one of the bowls Bobby put on the stove. He'd tried taking out the spoon. He'd tried the can again, in case the soup was somehow territorial.

Sam's groggy voice interrupts his latest attempt (which also ended in sparks). "What are you even doing in there?"

"This machine is sentient," Castiel calls back in response, "and it is determined to end its own existence."

"The microwave?" Damningly, frustratedly, Castiel doesn't respond. Sam snorts. "Dude, you're gonna blow up Bobby's house."

"I don't have my abilities." Castiel nudges the machine closed and just brings Sam the soup as-is. "How would I blow up the house?"

"Microwaves. You microwave metal, and they..." Sam gestures. "Kabloom."

Oh.

"Looks like you figured it out?"

Castiel doesn't respond. Sam stares at the bowl for a few long moments before his eyes flick back up to Cass.

"Castiel," he says lowly, pressing his lips tight to supress a smile, "is this cold soup?"

"It is not cold," Castiel responds sharply, "it is... room temperature."

Sam laughs, and takes the damn soup.

Day 15: Dizzy

Storytime! Today you get a word or phrase for a creation prompt, use it as your inspiration in whatever way you see fit: the world is turning though your character is standing still or lying down. Where did this feeling come from? Is it an expected side effect of a medication, something that hits them out of the blue or perhaps the result of being hit in the head. So many options...
