The umbrella-like clusters of Daucus carota (wild carrot, Queen Anne’s lace) flowers are usually white and often have one purple or red flower in the centre. There are pink and purple forms grown in gardens. These clusters of flowers fold inwards, becoming concave, when they turn to seed.

Island Life

I cut my grass longer than is typical so that small things flower and pollinators thrive. It’s brown and crunchy now, but I’m surprised by how much is still blooming. Still, seed heads/pods make the year feel farther along than it is.

Climaciella brunnea! I don't come across these very often, so seeing this one was quite something! Such a weird and cute little insect. It is neither a fly, or a wasp, or a mantis. This wasp mimic Mantidfly is in the order Neuroptera, family Mantispidae. Basically just a fancy lacewing with raptorial forelegs.

my aesthetic is pretty much just what I post on my blog! clothes-wise im starting to lean more into androgynous/punk stuff but I have some rly light “feminine” pieces that I still rly love

Card twenty-one (the twenty-second and final major arcana) of the Tarot is associated with Saturn. This card showing up acknowledges the end of a long term cycle, and significant accomplishment. Queen Anne’s lace, or wild carrot, helps cleanse the liver and kidneys, heal bladder infections and calm the stomach. It’s linked to Mercury (dualistic + dry/hands, arms, shoulders, lungs, nervous system, brain). The seeds’ oil has been used as a contraceptive.
