As someone who grew up on a beach in California, Alex hates cold weather. She’s always cold but also always seems to simultaneously underestimate how cold it is outside. Maggie, however, as a born-and-raised Nebraskan girl, knows her way around several feet of snow. And also knows when it’s an appropriate time to trade in the leather for an actual winter coat.
It’s not uncommon for Maggie to smuggle extra gloves, scarves, beanies, whatever she can fit, in her coat pockets to slip Alex when she starts shivering.
The fact that Maggie always wears her coats two sizes too big comes with the added benefit that she can wrap it around herself and her girlfriend when Alex finally gives up the tough-girl act and admits shes freezing and ready for snuggles.
