Pairing: Adam Warlock x Bucky Barnes

Theme: Sacrifice for the future.

Summary: Imagine Adam hired/asked Bucky to kill him in the future, but in the process gets super attached to him. So when the time finally comes .Its the hardest decision Bucky's ever done.

A/N: Character Death tw guys srry it was a quick prompt inspo I had with my friend hehe

The timestream was fragile, breaking. Adam did what he could only do. Merge a stable reality to this one to keep the time stream from breaking. Of course that meant only one thing. The Magus...will come back. A dangerous being that habors all his darkness. He could rule the cosmos if let out. So Adam made a plan.

Adam has used all his powers to stop whatever is in the timestream and because he knew this would bring back Magus he gave it his all. His mind is weak and the only thing he's thinking about is the guardians...and Bucky...

He's suddenly lifted up and out of the crossfire and laid in a quiet place in the forest part of the planet. He feel the familiar cold and warmth radiating from the person carrying him. Adam looks up and sees Bucky. Smiling softly he goes, "You came back. I told you time and time again...I don't need protection..." His voice weak but smooth.

Bucky looks at him with a frown. "For the perfect human. You got a lot of imperfections huh?"

"Never said I was perfect." Adam chuckled, which only created bile to rise up in his throat spilling out slightly.

Adam's hand starts turning purple,

"The time has come..." He says slowly.

Bucky looks at him in silence. His eyes filled with too many emotions. Hand starting to shake as Adam guides his silver arm onto his chest.

His breathing quickens and his heart pounds in his chest. The silence was loud in that forest.

"You can't do this to me Goldy..." The soldier says as he grits his teeth.

"I made a lot mistakes in the past, and sometimes I thought maybe meeting you was thoughtless. I'm bringing you such pain...for that...I am sorry my dear soldier..." Adam slowly speaks. Bucky's right hand rises to hold Adam's face. Adam instinctively leans into the warmth of his normal hand.

"But I would never trade away all the moments I had with you..." The purple spreading faster and rising up his chest. Adam's hand squeezes Bucky's left arm with the last of his strength.

Bucky held his breath. Breathing too quickly to the point where he could barely hear anything. He curls his hands into a fist and closes his eyes shut.

Tight...

Everything was too tight.

Overwhelming...

Then finally...

Silence...

His breathing slows down.

His arm stained with what was.

He pants shakily as he pulls away and sits down across the other. Seeing as the cracked soul stone roll to his feet. The limp body of what once was laid there. Unmoving and gone. He stood up and walked away. Emotionless and cold as he was meant to be.
