Off-season is really getting to me and the fact that I can go neither to the pre-Opening nor the opening nor any time soon is just *unintelligible mumbling*, so I'm just gonna post the rest of the photos from Winterzauber until I feel better. >.>

Das kleine Ästchen und der Schnee

Ein kleines Ästchen lag einsam im Schnee. Der Wind hatte es vom großen Baum abgebrochen, und nun fühlte es sich verloren. Früher hatte es hoch oben geschwankt, dem Himmel nah, doch jetzt lag es klein und vergessen auf dem kalten Boden.

Da fiel der erste Schnee auf das Ästchen. Sanfte, weiße Flocken bedeckten es. „Du bist nicht allein“, flüsterte der Schnee. „Ich werde dich wärmen.“

Das Ästchen seufzte. „Aber ich gehöre nicht mehr zum Baum. Ich bin nutzlos.“

Der Schnee lachte leise. „Unsinn. Im Frühling wirst du zur Erde werden, und aus dir wächst neues Leben.“

Das Ästchen dachte darüber nach. Vielleicht war das Ende gar kein richtiges Ende, sondern ein neuer Anfang. Und während der Schnee es sanft bedeckte, fühlte es sich nicht mehr ganz so verloren.

Manches scheint ein Abschied zu sein, doch oft ist es nur der Beginn von etwas Neuem.

WIP Wednesday - All I Want is You

ABC Family/Hallmark holiday movie inspired Twilight Princess Zelink ficlet! Coming December 16!

Summary:

Link and Zelda come from two different worlds. When those worlds collide at the first annual Winterzauber in Hyrule, they’ll find that titles and stations have no meaning when it comes to true love.

Excerpts:

Link hefted the axe in his left hand, testing the weight before lifting it and gripping the handle with his right. Swish. He swung it through the air with practiced ease. It wasn’t quite the same as a broadsword, but the motion was familiar enough. Crack! The axe connected with the trunk of the spindly pine tree, sending splinters and chunks of bark and wood flying. He repeated the motion several more times, each swing a little more forceful and accompanied by a grunt until the notch in the trunk was as large as his forearm. 

One more swing ought to do it.

Zelda rested her chin on her hand and tried not to look bored as her advisory council argued over where best to place the Winter Solstice tree in the Winterzauber. The muffled sounds of hammers, saws, and shouts as the carpenters erected stalls for said market filtered through the glass-paned French doors of her office balcony, competing with the raised voices of the committee seated before her. 

She would have pointed out the choicest spot– behind the fountain at the courtyard's center– if they bothered to ask her. It would be picturesque, especially in the evening, with fountain spray reflecting the twinkling fairy lights adorning the tree. She’d made several attempts to interject before giving it up as a lost cause. Eventually, they’d remember she was there and ask her opinion if they didn’t devise a solution. In the meantime, she would have to suffer through for another– she glanced at the clock and grimaced– two hours.
