PSA FOR WITCHES WITH PETS

I am honestly shocked that I feel the need to even stress this, but, if you're a witch with pets, please make sure you actively know the ingredients and whether they are pet safe or not! Especially those like me whom have cat familiars. I recently saw someone using lilies around their cat and they had no idea how dangerous it is. I was incredibly startled and helped educate that person, so now I want to post this as a warning just in case there's another starter-witch/baby-witch who hasn't looked into these things enough. If you're following a spell or ritual, you need to check the ingredients and if any of them pose a threat to your pet, replace them with a pet-friendly witchcraft source. I can promise you that there are several alternatives. If anyone needs help, I can happily list safe ingredients that you can replace toxic ones with. I beg you to do your research and protect your animals.

Just because you can speak with the gods and channel them doesn’t mean you’re their oracle. This might be a hot take but I think this needs to be said, I speak to the gods many times through penedulum readings, tarot, meditations but very rarely I would ever share “their message to the world or the public”. For me personally when a god gives me a message I would take it to heart but I won’t become obsessed with it or take it as universal fact.

If someone were to come to me and ask what spirits or gods has a message for them by their request I wouldn’t mind giving it to them. But I’m not an oracle, that’s a intation and a specific role in society and community also so many years of training is required. Same thing when people calling themselves priests or priestess without the formal training or knowledge it can be dangerous and toxic. Especially if their talking like cult like Christians that’s a huge red flag.

I do not doubt these people having mediumship skills but you have to remember spirits can take advantage of that and yourself need to be in check mentally. One needs to really understand and handle these spirits and messages before doing self possession this can be dangerous at times especially when alone. I find it every difficult if someone is channeling or doing self possession all the time and randomly doing it without one’s knowledge. You ask, you do a ritual, even the spirit can ask you, then set boundaries this is a very responsible way of doing it. It’s tiring and draining when channeling a spirit on a constant basis imagine with a god. For me I gave permission to do automatic writing where they take control of my arm, now am I possessed? Yes and no, no because I’m not giving all the control and it is meddling with channeling like how a medium would let the spirit speak through them but that requires a lot of energy that’s why you usually see that type of work during séances. Even then I limit their control and know my limitations as well.

We need to take more responsibility and care of ourselves when doing rituals that are and can be dangerous also realize to not misused terms like priests or oracles since they can be used for elitism or power dynamics. Unless you’re actually trained, having the experience, helping people and protecting others heck maybe more darker purposes but do it carefully and responsibly and not abusing it and spreading lies. Even Solitary practitioners must consider the risks. This is spirituality and witchcraft even religion that deals with unseen forces that can be dangerous and harmful to the practitioner but also to a lot of other people around them. I’m not fear mongering I’m being honest and serious about these practices.

The Joy of Satan Cult is making their rounds again. This is a Neo-nazi cult that goes around innocently asking for opinions to practitioners in the hopes of getting traffic to their site. It is recommended by most practitioners to not engage and avoid sending traffic their way. If they message you, just block them.

I don't know what witch needs to hear this, but you don't have to do a witch thing daily!

Magick is energy, and when you do your spells, your rituals, manifestations, and what have you, it takes up energy. It makes you tired. You need to rest and let that energy build up again. Practice self care.

I haven't done anything witch related in 2 days. That doesn't make me less of a witch, it just means I've done enough for a little while and I'm taking a well deserved break. Don't over exert yourself for your craft, that's not what it's about. Take care of yourselves friends.

Magick Can Be Dark

Holy Magick Light Magick White Magick Grey Magick Black Magick Blood Magick

Most forms of magick are somewhere in or between these lines (there are obvious exceptions for those in the know. For those that aren't, I don't have the past 7 years of my craft life written down sorry). But the misconception is that white magick = good and black magick = evil with no in-between. False. Holy magick can be used for bad things, and even blood magick (the kind of stuff you see falsely tied to Satanists exclusively) can be used for good.

A pen isn't evil just because it is darker and more free-flowing than a pencil, is it? That's ridiculous. Just like writing utensils as an example, there is a spectrum of graphite to ink with many exceptions to those 2 categories.

Witchcraft doesn't follow a strict left-right path, and witches who say so have not branched out their knowledge. It isn’t their fault, it is just our job to teach them.

On that same note, not all witches function on karma and the idea of right or wrong, so "BEWARE THE CREED" is very exclusive and derogatory to witches who use magick just as a tool rather than a lifestyle. Most magick isn't love and light. I know summoning spells, binding runes, and have a candle which I have dripped blood into. But people who know me will not say I am evil. I've never wished harm upon another with my spells. It's the principle to get to the end result, not a matter of conscious thought. In fact, most magick should be second nature and second-guessing it with conscious thought is diluting your power.

So please, don't be an exclusive craft-hole.
