Tips/Reminders For Witches Just Beginning Their Craft
It’s been a little since my last post so here’s one I created a bit ago but didn’t post. Due to my health I have not been practicing my craft and I know that the idea of stopping can freak some witches out. I just want to remind everyone that a ‘break’ does not deem you unworthy or less of a witch. In fact, acknowledging that you need a break takes responsibility and self growth and allows your spirit and physical self to rest and repair. Blessings and good health to you guys!
You do not need to be Wiccan.
You do not need to be religious.
‘Witch’ is gender neutral.
Check grocery stores, flea markets, online stores, and craft stores before metaphysical stores. Great finds but sometimes way cheaper.
You do not need to practice every single day unless you want to.
You are not less of a witch if you dont practice every day.
Skills take time.
There are going to be frustrations- breathe and move on
You do not need to tell anyone.
You can tell everyone.
Paths change. Beliefs change. Don’t fear the fact that you change, and it’s okay when/if you do. Don’t fear if a time comes when you change what you identify as as a witch.
Not everyone works with deities
Not everyone curses / hexes / jinxes. Some do.
Most things aren’t “black and white”
You don’t need to celebrate all, if any, Sabbats
Archive.org is a website for books etc that you can find books on things metaphysical. It’s completely free and I personally love it.
You do not need to own crystals unless you want to.
You do not need to live by moon phases unless you want to.
Little things are magick- brushing hair, showering, sweeping, drinking a favorite beverage, walking outside, meditating, etc
You do not need every tool, or any for that matter- cauldron, athame, bell, chalice, etc.
It can be hard to be consistent in your practice and that’s okay. There are witches who find themselves unable to practice for months (and its okay!)
You do not need a familiar. A familiar is NOT your pet.
Learning terms can be stressful, especially when most of them you never heard while growing up. Take your time- make sure you have fun with it, too 🤗
Not everyone accepts witches, be safe but don’t let that scare you❤
Wicca and Witchcraft are two different concepts. Wicca is a religion while the craft is a practice.
Maybe Witchcraft isn’t right for you. That’s okay!
You can be Wiccan and not a witch
It’s a good bet that it’ll help to research your findings, especially on social platforms
You do not need to practice all forms of divination. Build off of one your drawn to- or keep to only one.
You are in charge of your craft, no one else.
A pentagram is a 5 pointed star. A pentacle is a 5 pointed star within a circle
Many witches, including myself, dont remember all correspondences. If you need to look up what colors, symbols, numbers etc mean, don’t feel bad for it😋
For witchcraft all you absolutely need is: yourself.
Pentagram represents 5 elements: Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Spirit
your magick is always valid. never feel guilty because you might be too exhausted to do a little spell or a big ritual. it’s always okay to take time for yourself. ✨
Thanksgiving is all about spending time with family, and that includes the Gods! Make sure to let them know that you appreciate them and are grateful for them!
Maybe at the dinner table offer them some of the food for them to enjoy and eat! Make sure they feel the love you have for them💕💕💕
If you live in America mark on your calendars that August 21 will be the solar eclipse. It will peak at 2:44pm EST ( do a bit of research to see what you’ll be able to see and your locally occurring time).
I also highly suggest you collect solar eclipse water during this time. Solar eclipse water is good for supercharging spells to give it an extra kick if you need it as well as it works very well for spells involving transformation, change, or release.
