Summary: With coven three you take on the next trial, knowing it is beyond your knowledge. Reunited to coven five. More is revealed by tarot cards [Witches road series]
Tame your fears, a door appears, the time has come to go.
The road curved. Going on forever. Billy and Agatha up ahead. You walking mindlessly behind them. Your familiar walking by your feet. He meowed soft, making you stop. Turn over your shoulder to look behind. Behind the path you had already followed. Feeling like with each trial you were losing a sister.
Coven broken and crumbling down brick by brick. Turning back to the front, your gaze stopped at Agatha and Billy. Knowing there were many trials ahead. Unsure how many more bricks would crumble in your coven.
With only three standing. Would anyone reach the end before their downfall. Your familiar meowed once more to catch your attention. Kneeling down, you went to pick him up.
Giving him a caring kiss on his head. Getting in motion again, you followed them. Knowing there would be a price to pay. Perhaps you should’ve been kept buried. Unsure how you were able to break through the spell of entrapment. Isolation.
Up ahead grew a tension between Agatha and Billy. – “Are you reading my mind?” – Agatha said teasingly with her hands in her pockets. – “No.” – Billy responded. – “Oh…” – Agatha answered as an awkwardness rose. – “If you have anything to ask, just say it out loud. Tell me Billy do you have any questions for your old babysitter.” – Agatha asked after some silence.
Feeling the need to fill it up. – “What did you do to Y/n.” – Billy asked. It made Agatha stare in shock at him for a second. – “Not that.” – she responded harsh. Annoyed that she avoided the question, he knew better than to push her.
“Alright is Wanda Maximoff still alive?” – he wanted to know. – “No...” – was her first answer. – “Yes… well maybe?” – she then filled in leaving more questions than answers to Billy.
“Did you see her body?” – he said keeping his gaze on the path he was walking. – “Yes…” – Agatha responded hesitantly. Billy looked over his shoulder sensing you had been lingering. – “Y/n stay close.” – he called out. You picked up your pace as Billy slowed his down for you to join his side.
Agatha gawked at what was happening. She then scoffed like it didn’t bother her at all. – “Looks like you’re taking favourites.” – Agatha whispered to Billy. Billy rolled his eyes at her, speeding a bit up to shake her off. Agatha and you fell into step. Glancing nervously at each other before looking away.
Agatha started to fiddle with her fingers, biting her lip hesitantly. – “What… what my mother said…” – Agatha started as you didn’t want to be reminded of it again. – “Is in the past.” – you replied. – “Y/n… I…” – Agatha answered as you didn’t want to continue talking about it. – “Agatha!” – you called out loud, startling her.
Quickening up your pace, you left her behind. Agatha slowing down a bit to reflect on your meaning. She tried hard to make it seem like it didn’t hurt her, but it did. The road went on. Billy coming to a stop. Agatha and you joining his side. – “Well this is different.” – he said.
Up ahead a dark castle. Different from the houses before. This one could come right out of a fairytale. For the first time you were hesitant to enter the next trial. Having endured a few, it always ended up with leaving someone behind. Something you didn’t want.
Because what if it was Billy that staid behind or Agatha. Looking down at your familiar it let his head curl up to your chest. Knowing exactly how you felt and what you were thinking. If anyone needed to stay behind. It would not be them. With a heavy and tender heart you followed the road.
The castle drawing closer. Each step weighed your heart down. Would a coven three be enough to pass the next trial. Crossing the draw bridge, you paid attention to the moons. Now it was time to tame your fears for a door appeared. The door creakingly opened as one by one you stepped in.
Agatha turned feeling green. A resemblance of the wicked witch. Teen admired himself as a resemblance of Maleficent. Moving your hands to your stomach, you looked down at your own clothing. – “You look like a Sanderson sister.” – Billy pointed out.
Agatha gave you an interesting hum. Moving closer to the mirror, you observed yourself. Indeed you resembled one of the Sanderson sisters. Unsure to what fairytale you had fallen through. Your familiar hopped onto the table, meowing loud. Billy walked up to it taking the deck of cards in his hands.
A heavy click set the trial in motion. A timer turned. – “Tarot… I know a bit of tarot.” – Billy said bravely to himself. Agatha gestured with her hand as she came sitting down dramatically. Billy sat down as well. You stood up right by the side of the round table.
Billy took out a first card, showing it to Agatha. She teasingly glanced at him, hearing him stumble and stutter over his words to explain the card. Agatha laughed loud that he wasn’t very good at it. Annoyed Billy placed the card down.
A dangling sword cut through the air. Falling down not far from your familiar. It spooked him, making him jump into you arms. – “Sorry.” – Billy said to your familiar. He hissed loud as you shushed him, stroking his back calmly.
“Be careful.” – you told him as he took out his next card. – “I… I know this one.” – he pointed out. – “Go on then.” – Agatha answered for him to continue. Billy explained the card as he placed it down. Another sword dropped down. Falling somewhere behind Billy.
“Give me that!” – Agatha called out, snatching the cards from his hand. She took out card after card, placing them down. – “That is not how it goes.” – you shouted at her but she wouldn’t listen. Laughing manically as she placed them down.
More swords came falling down. Making you gasp loud at each one that fell sharp around you. Billy looked up, eyes wide. Seeing the sword drop, he leaped to the side. The sword cut right through his chair. – “That is enough!” – you called out, letting go of your familiar.
Lifting the hem of your dress up, you went up to the table. Plucking the cards from her hands. – “This isn’t helpful!” – you told her as the ceiling of swords started to come down. – “Well at least I am doing something miss pretty Sanderson.” – she replied mockingly.
It made you groan annoyed at her. At this point you weren’t sure why you kept loving her. In times like this where her bad nature came above, you hated it the most.
“Just laying useless cards on the table isn’t the answer.” – you shouted back showing her the deck of cards. – “We just need to think.” – Billy said panicky trying to keep his nerves under control. – “What we need is Lilia!” – you made clear shoving the cards against Agatha’s chest hard.
Agatha blinked surprisingly at your anger. Sudden knocks made all of you stare at the wall. The bookcase crushed down as Lilia and Jen stumbled through. Dressed as Glinda the good witch and the evil witch from Snow White. You smiled bright. Coven three now coven five.
Lilia quickly moved to the tarot reading table, gesturing for Billy to sit. - "Ask your question Billy." - Lilia spoke. - "How do we get out of here." - Agatha interrupted. Lilia sighed loud. - "He has to ask the question." - Lilia clearified. Agatha nudged him hard. - "Ask her how we get out of here." - she let in on him.
Knowing this was wrong, you grabbed Agatha by her elbow, pulling her away. She protested a bit. - "Let her work." - you hissed at Agatha with annoyance. - "Am I William or Billy?" - Billy asked as Lilia pointed out that was a good question. Billy kept taking out card, yet the dangling swords kept falling.
One came slicing down as Agatha grabbed you by the shoulders. Turning you away before the sword could hit you. Sticking into the ground behind you. Agatha breathed out a laugh, touching your chin teasingly. - "It's not working!" - Jen called out in a panic.
Lilia stared in front of her till it hit her. - "I am the traveler." - she said revealing a card and placing it down. Queen of cups. Three of pentacles, the coven. Knight of wands, Alice. The high priestess, Jennifer. Three of swords, Agatha. Tower reversed, Billy.
Everyone watched with anticipation for the last card. Agatha glancing your way. Lilia seemed to be lost in her thoughts. Till she gasped loud. Lilia took out a card, saying it out loud without looking. - "Y/n is the hanged man." - she let out.
"Sacrifice, release, martyrdom." - her gaze fixated on you. Her gaze then went to Agatha. Agatha chuckled nervously. The ceiling kept coming down as Agatha plucked the card from her hands and placed it down. An ominous sound opened a doorway.
Agatha spurted out first wanting to get out. Billy second. Your familiar jumped in your arms as you lingered. Lilia pushing you and Jen to the opening. - "I'm going in after you." - Jen said. Lilia shook her head. - "You are what is up ahead." - she replied shoving Jen inside. Lilia touched your chin with a saddened smile.
"I loved being a witch." - She let out before shoving you in. Closing the door behind you. You tried screaming wanting to return but the road had set you back. Unable to reach the house once more. Coven four. Looking over your shoulder, you glared hard at Agatha. For your past became just a bit clearer.
