After learning their society allows gay marriage, the son of a human lord volunteers his hand in marriage to a demonic prince to save his sister from being forced into the match.

Not permitted to meet the prince, and knowing nothing about him beyond the cruel nature of the demon king, the son anxiously awaits his fate for the two weeks his family is permitted to stay in the demon kingdom.

When the day finally arrives, he stands in the grand and bloodstained ceremonial chamber and waits for his would-be husband.

A hush falls. A curtain is drawn. The prince enters.

And the uncertain son realises that he is, in fact, quite familiar with the unknown prince.

He's the hot demon guy he's been sneaking out to fuck every night for the past fourteen days.

Poem: A Letter

I'm scribbling away words, Trapped in my chest, flapping like birds. Ones I wished I had said to you, They have had their time to brew.

I dread the thought of them not reaching, The pages I wrote for you, beseeching.

Brighter days have collapsed to bleaker nights, My timid heart is losing its strength to fight. The hurting world is getting heavier, And my lungs have frozen from fear.

I can hear the bombshells explode, Blood-red sky asking back what I owed.

I extend my bruised and blemished hand, Carrying blood-soaked phrases from a foreign land. Remember me, please, at least in your dreams, The lover I could never be, it seems.

Still scribbling away words.

Secret Third Thing

Lyn and Zo go through a Rift, and end up working with pirates and an unlikely ally to uncover and foil Kytur's machinations. What does he want with the local form of magic? What is the black trade market up to, and how is he manipulating it? Can Zo actually do team-work with people who Aren't Lyn? Who knows.

Status: Tertiary Project

At the moment it's more worldbuilding/planning/practice than an actual WIP, but I'll also be vaguely working on the "Pirate Arc" for plotting practice. It's a story more or less half-way through Rifters Series 2, with Lyn and Zo and [Redacted].

The Rifters project needs a Lot of set-up, and other stories to come first, so they'll be more of a background radiation that will pop up every now and again while I focus my work on other things. But I still wanted to include them. As a treat.
