Generally evil wizards keep an imp, hellhound or raptor bird of prey as their familiar. However, Cats are somehow commonly overlooked which is dumb. They soak up magic, keep pests away, are lethe and fit into small spaces, and they're cuddly little fur babies to snuggle with a when you're feeling lonely. Plus, it's far cheaper to pick up a cutie patootie from a shelter than engender and tame your own feind.

tldr go adopt a cat to be your evil snuggly companion.
