It's 3AM and my throat is burning.
I had already been sleeping for a couple of hours, when I suddenly woke up and jumped straight out of bed; because of the nasty, burning taste in the back of my throat. It hasn't happened in.. over a year? Usually the tell-tale sign is a sore/overly active upper tummy or feeling nauseous when I lie down in bed. This night? Nothing. The only way to get rid of the taste -and make sure you don't puke, because believe me, if you taste that taste for too long, it will make you hurl- used to be eating a banana. Now of course we didn't have any in the house, because I know what foods to avoid in the evening to not have this happen, so I had to a waffle (first thing at hand).
I'm just puzzled. I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary. My bowels weren't overly active. I didn't have a dumping before bed. My tummy was fine when I went to bed. Yet somehow it still happened. Any mutuals with a gastric bypass who recognize this and know what I'm going through?
