☕ tumblr makes a bigger deal about age gaps that than necessarily are. Like a couple year difference between teenagers doesnt automatically equal toxic and abusive.

well it’s circumstantial but i agree. i have friends with parents who have a ten year age gap which is honestly so unfathomable to me but for them it works and they met later on in life. 

i would say it’s different for teenagers, though, because there at such drastically different points in their lives. this is similar to drume, but there was an eighth grader(age 13) dating a senior(16 going on 17) in my school district. in a broader concept, 3-4 years isnt at all bad but when it’s someone just starting high school compared with someone who’s getting ready to leave for college, that’s obviously a problem. it’s true that the gap closes with age, but i would say for teenagers it should be a big deal. we’re young and impressionable, not to say that every relationship like this is toxic but,,,,just unnecessary and certainly opens up the possibility to become toxic way faster.
