Tim Lancaster left Huntington over the summer, but he returned this past weekend, just in time to see his friends in Ona perform on @mountainstage. Tim joined WMUL music director Nathan Thomas live in the studio Monday evening for a chat about his summer, how he originally got into folk music, and his Ona friends. WSAZ: What’s the Deal? Music Appreciation? Ft. WMUL

In 1993 a segment on WSAZ, “What’s the Deal?,” reported on music appreciation, and a then-new study that said Mozart would help the brain better than grunge. Huntington band Electric Lullaby was featured in the clip as well.

Adam Barraclough (DJ name: The Scarecrow), Huntington native, recently commented on the video as it made the rounds again on social media: “Yeah, Randy had his story written before he ever showed up at the studio, thus the out-of-context quotes.  I don't think he was expecting us to have anything intelligent to say so he kept asking us questions until he got the sound bites he wanted. We were all metal DJs and none of us were aware we would be referred to continually as "grunge rockers".
