Have you redsigned Orca yet? She's always been an interesting character to me, despite the very small window of insight we have on her.

I have not! I’m also a big Orcs fan - she’s up there with Dune and Osprey in the list of characters who I think would massively benefit from a winglet, and have very interesting (very vague) story! Do I think she would’ve been a better Queen than Coral? No, but I feel like there’s no real wrong answer to this question because her character is just so vague. The way I interpret it, Orca seemed like a seriously paranoid princess. If she went through all the trouble of eliminating future daughters, who’s to say what else she would do? Anyways, I’ve seen some very good takes on Orca’s hypothetical rule and would love to hear differing opinions!

Princess Orca making another one of her freaks (for morale and enrichment) i think i can make her a secret weirdo. she deserves it if i'm keeping her alive and Not Evil™. dont mind the worry lines on her forehead those are from perfectly normal and healthy amounts of stress in her everyday life (bonus panel)

Inheritance Dispute

...one punch.

Recently, as I laid awake at night waiting for the dream realm to claim me, I've been thinking about Animus magic and how chaotic a journey it had. I've come to the conclusion that it was mostly fine in Arc 1. It wasn't focused on too much and it had a couple of sensible limitations in place, some explicit and some implicit. I'd like to write down my detailed thoughts on the matter at some point, maybe talk about what I would have done with it in Arc 2, but not now.

As I was pondering all of this, I started thinking about Orca. Poor Orca was placed in the wrong Arc. Had she had access to the Arc 2 Animus kit, there is no way she would have lost her life to her mother. Though maybe it's a good thing this didn't happen. I don't know if I wanted to live in a world where Turtle was not born. So let's all honor Orca's noble sacrifice.

This sequence is a little more scribbly than my usual work. Many unrefined lines. I wanted to storyboard the entire thing while it was still fresh in my mind and I hadn't forgotten it yet. I didn't even plan to release it since it is kind of stupid, but I liked how it turned out.

What if Auklet is Orca's reincarnation? How would she and Peacemaker interact?.. What if the ghosts of their past lives were with them and could see each other? Come on, they really are that similar: two mentally unstable teenagers with animus magic who want to be the rulers of their country and have daddy/mommy issues.
