"I—uh.." Annie freezes, mouth opening and closing in shock, cheeks burning a bright red in embarassment as she stares at him. She quickly ducks her head, her hair falling over her face as tears well up in her eyes.

Her body turns quickly to hide her quickly reddening face, and puffy eyes as she moves her hands upwards to rub away the fast forming tears before they can make their way down her face. "Shit—"

"You don't have to be such an ass, god forbid a girl gets hungry." Her head tilts back, frantically blinking upwards as if to clear dust out of her eyes to cover up the fact that she's seconds away from full blown tears, though her voice doesn't cover up as much.

"Whatever, it's fine." She rubs at her eyes once more, breathing a sigh of relief as she doesn't feel anymore tears incoming. "Let's just get a move on. I want to get home sooner rather than later."

Honestly she didn't know why she'd joined her classmates at the bar. This was not a place that she typically frequented. To many block heads driven by their hind brain that tried to force their way into her space. It was always a risk for someone like her to go out into the world, but she managed well enough with all of her scent blockers.

It had been a gift from her oldest sister when she'd moved out of their parents home. The choker was simple and she loved it. Her outfit was a bit out of her comfort zone, but her friends had insisted that she wear something other than a massive sweater and leggings. And that was her downfall that night.

She'd been abandoned by her so called friends and was left to fend for herself against a hormonal male. The way his scent filled her nose made her stomach turn. Lavender had smacked his hand away a number of times already, but he wasn't getting the hint. That's when she saw a dark haired man who'd been at the bar for near the same amount of time her group had.

"Look, my friend just got here you need to back off block head!" The frat boy just leaned in and she wrinkled her nose huffing out the scent that filled it.

"I don't think you know anyone else here sweet thing. Why not just listen to that little voice in your head and follow me? I'll show you a good time." Just as the young man leaned in she booked in from where he'd cornered her and all but hid behind the plaid wearing man at the bar.

"Look I'm sorry, I'm Lavender You can tell me off later but help?" she spoke quickly, a desperate light in her very lavender eyes, as she watched the knot head start walking their way.

FIGHTING THE CROWDED BAR was complex with her small stature, but holding drinks in the air made people move out of the way. Sighing loudly as she sat down, eyebrows scrunched at his remark. ❝What are others saying about me?❞ It must have to do with her father and people making assumptions. Or it could be something else. ❝Actually, I don't want to know. Forget it.❞

The bar was a little loud for her senses, but it was fun and energetic. Dance clubs never seemed enjoyable, but bars like this, hole-in-the-wall type places, were more her speed. Things were going well and on schedule, so taking a night off was well-earned. The cigar smell was not her favorite, but complaining would be rude.

Taking a sip of whatever the bartender whipped up at her flavor suggestion, Ana couldn't help but grimace and cough. Holding up a hand, then a thumbs up to let him know she was fine, the drink continued to burn all the way down. ❝I don't think the bartender understood what I wanted at all.❞

"absolutely not. YOU do it." moby shoves the 'NEED HELP' flyer into his chest. "first, your professor x-ray has us staying a month in a shitty house one rough breeze from turning into kindling. now he wants one of us to get hired at this place? i'm not fucking doing it." moby considers herself an impeccable actress when needed like any shapeshifter worth their salt. but this was too far. "your two hundred-something years looks better on a resume."

the two of them often sought out company from the other - kurt was treated differently by logan, different from the way he treated most. from how most tended to treat him when they did not know him. more often than not, they could use each others presence - logan, more than anything. kurt often tried to pry him from his less healthy habits, but there was only so much he could do to be a distraction. it was later in the night, logan seated at the table behind him, before kurt turns & in his usual cloud of purple, appears next to him. holding the fork out, stopping the bottle from connecting with logan's mouth again, he gives a grin. ❛ you do not mind, do you? ❜ to taste it for him, tell him how it is - mostly, just to keep his focus away from the bottle in his hands. / @wolfeign.

"Right. Going by the new name now." Something she would have to get use to. But his annoyance doesn't bother her. "Dead and buried." Her arms cross in front of her chest. "I was waiting on Wade but here you are. Always here." Her hands press to her thighs as she moves to stand.

She was always so tired of waiting. At times it felt as if she was always waiting for some poor soul to drop in her lap. Even heroes can't save everyone.

"You know if you keep glare at me you'll form more wrinkles. Can't be good for you." She draws silent after her comment. "How is the hero life working out for you? Getting everything you wanted?"

[ HAZELNUT ] sender begrudgingly patches up receiver's wounds.

The air in the medbay was heavy with the smell of antiseptic and Logan’s clear annoyance with the stunt Rogue had pulled to get herself in this position. She could see it in the set of his jaw and the way he moved to dip the cottonball in alcohol before dabbing it against her broken skin. A hiss escaped past her gritted teeth at the sting.

She would try to defend herself if she thought it would do any good. How was she supposed to know the damage from that particular blow would exceed the limits of her stolen durability? It’s not like she had ever clearly tested it. It would likely only annoy the man more to hear her make excuses. 

“You don’t have to do this. Ah can patch myself up.” She spoke without looking at him. “Looks worse than it is.”
