What if Kuina has absolutely mad luck? The kind where she cannot lose at a game of chance.

Wonderlands hear Vivi is missing so they go to Alabasta to look for her and happen upon Crocodile's casino. Excited to mess with him indirectly they get Kuina to try every game of chance there is. Thus winning every. Single. One.

To the point where Croco himself shows up and plays cards with her. And of course she wins even with Robin being the dealer behind a mask.

Cue them running away while maniacally laughing all the way to the port where Strawhats stopped first in Alabasta. Devil fruit making crossing the desert a breeze.

Shamrock and Stelly frantically usher Vivi, Ace and the Strawhats away. And Smoker just watches it in absolute disbelief. As Shamrock has to physically carry Luffy away while Sabo promises they're not going to beat Crocodile.

We keep seeing this post going around that's something like, "if magic is connected to being 'close to nature' in your setting then you have to explain why animals can't use it". And it always amuses us a little, because animals in our headspace can!

It doesn't typically look big and flashy unless "big and flashy" is the purpose (e.g. blinding prey), but animals, plants and other lifeforms use magic constantly to hunt, to defend themselves, to get their bearings and the like.

It's usually things like increasing speed, making yourself silent, charm or hypnosis or paralysis effects, and the like. So, a lot of things that animals had evolved anyway, but more powerful/precise/absolute.

But there are also plenty of species that specifically evolved into what they are now because they started relying on magic. Unicorns would be an example, I think: a unicorn is a specialized type of ungulate that channels magic through its horn. That's the entire purpose of the horn—it's not a weapon in the conventional sense. And because horns and hooves are both made of keratin, they can typically do magic with their hooves, as well.
