I find these people intrusive who, when asked what kind of superpower they want to possess, choose the ability to read people's minds. I mean, we're designed to give eachother at least that much privacy. Why this intense desire to be able to barge into someone's mind?

i really did.

but then, one day

you opened my eyes.

and for the first time

i saw the demons in your eyes.

the anger, the ego,

the resentment, the entitlement.

it suffocated me.

how had i missed it before?

i am sorry, but i am not sorry

for fading away

i cannot pretend that i did not see what i did.

i cannot simply forgive and forget.

i will bear the heartache.

i will suffer in silence.

i will always love you

but i need to do this for me

and love myself more.
