Last of this batch of books finally cased and finished! This is The Decameron written by Giovanni Boccaccio in the 14th century, approximately between 1349 and 1353. I pulled it off the Project Gutenberg website (which I highly suggest to anyone looking for free, public domain books to read, listen to or download to make a copy of your own. )
The premise is that a group of Italian nobles flee to the countryside from the Black Plague and while in the countryside all tell stories to entertain themselves, these are those collected stories.
Hence why this book has a heavy rat motif. I used a couple of purchased art prints to make the cover sheets and I love how they turned out.
The only thing I wish I had done differently would be to do the endbands in a solid color. I dont know where I got the pink and brown idea from but it works. The pink ribbon was one of my mama's and went really well.
Oisín is pooped by this stack of books. Next up will be a couple others from the Project Gutenberg. I suggest you check it out yourself!
Project Gutenberg is a library of free eBooks.
