Editing is the process of looking at something
you once liked
and calmly deciding it no longer belongs.
Not because it’s bad.
Because it’s not right.
It’s a very specific kind of discipline.

It’s a very specific kind of discipline.
That feeling of fulfillment and accomplishment that arises when you finally figure out how to resolve that plot hole that's been haunting you for weeks.
unfortunately ive long since decided to make writing my choice of creative pursuit and its been an interesting relationship so far !! to say the least
Nobody told me how soul sucking it would be to be a new writer with no established audience. The constant struggle to motivate yourself to write, just so that maybe a few people might read it.... It's just soul-sucking, man...
The funny thing is, if I had even like a dozen dedicated readers on a site like Royal Road or Wattpad, at least, I could see myself being pushed enough to write more...
But in order to actually get any appreciable reader base, you do need to write quite a bit.
Bit of a chicken and egg problem there!
random thing I found in my sticky notes😭
For all the thousands of songs out there about love and heartbreak and all kinds of stuff, I’ve never come across one about writing. Or, like, the difficulties of writing.
I can kinda hear it, now. A distressed electric guitar screeching around lyrics describing the miseries of an opening line. Or a tense drum sequence accompanying the mental minefield that is plotting. A haunted orchestra of violins as a singer wails about the hellish experience of a first draft.
A tearful piano melody about the impossibilities of writing good flash fictions. Or a frantic combination of every instrument ever invented to describe the unspeakable torture of writer's block.
This could become an entire album.
WHY IS PLOT SO HARD????
Writing Confession
I have such a problem with writing scenes or developments where main characters trust the wrong people and/or making Cringe mistakes because I myself always cringe and yell when I read that content in other works and I just hate to do it to characters myself
you writers who do it do it SO well and I just am hardly ever brave enough to do it
WHY *SLAM* MUST *SLAM* DESIGNING *SLAM* NEW *SLAM* LOCATIONS *SLAM* BE *SLAM* SO *SLAM* DIFFICULT???? *SLAM SLAM SLAM*
