writing/drawing a happy modern au for my doomed yuri knowing damn well they both die graphically
maura in a mob power play, they twist her arm behind her. she stays stoic but they keep pushing harder. her breath hitches. eventually they force a soft whimper out and she decides it's worth it to beg.
"you're going to break my arm." no response from them.
"that's my whipping arm."
they let go. she briefly counter stretches and then goes back to a neutral position, not letting the pain be too obvious.
"are you gonna thank me for not breaking your arm?"
she looks them in the eye. "thank you."
R####.
"My hair has gotten longer." He said, running a hand through the chocolate-colored locks, his eyes piercing straight at the mirror.
was it weird... that he didn't seem to mind it?
Nah, 'course not, lots of dudes had longer hair. It wasn't even that long, really. It was just enough to be put into a mini ponytail, while the rest laid on the back on his neck, touching his shoulders.
why was it sending a flutter into his chest?
Because it looked good on him. It.. suited him. That's all.
-
Now that his hair was longer, people would sometimes refer to him as a girl.
"Miss?" They would say. But, the moment he turned around, they immediately corrected themselves. Which wasn't a bad thing, obviously it wasn't a bad thing. He was a boy afterall.
so how come he felt that flutter in his chest yet again, that swiftly went away the instant they realized what he really was?
-
Ralph didn't hate being a boy. ... Most days, that is. Sometimes he hated being anything, really. He would rather wear that red hoodie he’s been wearing since he was a child, and just be refered to as nothing at all.
-
“How did you know?” Ralph asked suddenly, gazing out ahead.
Henry looked over at Ralph, his eyes squinting softly at the boy sat next to him, “Know what?”
Ralph looked down at the ground, as his hands gravitated together, starting to fidget. “Well… you know…”
Henry leaned closer into the other, a teasing yet light-hearted smirk on his face, “I can’t know unless you tell me, dude.”
Ralph flinched slightly, his breath shaky as he tried to organized his thoughts. “I- How did you know you were a boy?” He mutterd out, his eyes averting away.
Henry leaned away at that sudden question, his hands holding tightly to the grass underneath him. He looked up at the sky, and then back at Ralph, seeing his eyes closed by now, arms crossed his chest. “I just knew. Probably since I gained consiousness. It felt wrong to ever be a girl.”
After saying that, he tilted his head, trying to think of a reason as to why Ralph would even ask such a thing. But, of course, he would never know without asking him. So, he did. "Why are you asking anyways?"
The boy beside him tensed up at that question, his hands also moving towards the grass to ground him, at least somewhat. "I-" He started, shutting his mouth, than opening it again countless times. "No reason." He then mumbled softly.
Right after saying that, Henry started snickering, before stopping himself right afterwards, "When somebody asks that, it's never for 'no reason'," He said while making air quotes. His hand slowly approched the other's, looking at him with all the pure understanding he could muster up, "You can tell me, I won't judge."
religious guilt~
Do not forget your morning prayer, say grace before eating your breakfast, when you enter the church you must drop to one knee and sign the cross, make sure to attend Bible study on Wednesdays, do not let your mother see you crying, do not tell your friends from Bible study what you did, they will blame you too, take out your writing utensils, open your Bible to Corinthians 6:18, do not forget your body is a temple, highlight: “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body”, try not to stammer as you are pressed and prodded about the verses significance, attend Mass with your family and friends, while you sit next to your unsuspecting mother in Mass remember that you are now impure, make sure you sing along to worship music, donate every penny to the Lord, cross yourself and as you say “Amen” know that your body has been stained, remember to bow your head when the priest walks by, remember to stand when everyone else stands, go up and take communion, when the priest uses his hands and places the wafer on your tongue, try not to think of the violating fingers that pried your mouth open that night, know that your mother would be disappointed if she knew, pray for His forgiveness child, wash your hands, wash your face, wash your flesh, bathe in holy water if you must, but wash away your sin as best you can, know God sees failure in the flesh that boy defiled, virginity does not care for your consent, again do not forget to pray for forgiveness, make the sign of the cross, remember every inch you touch is now impure, recite the Lord’s Prayer, continue to take notes during Bible study, do not let your mind wander in the pews, do not look to the other boys in bible study and wonder if they too forced themselves onto someone under the pretense of forgivable sin, remember that Jesus died on the cross so man could be forgiven when he defiles the holy, try not to look at the red stained glass and think back to the same shade of red seeping down the legs he ripped open, keep your legs closed, clear your mind, kneel for confession, bow to God and apologize.
I have a stack of notebooks filled with drafts and embryonic ideas—meanwhile, I keep coming across posts from people talking about feeding their fics into AI.
I love my writerly anachronism
