Pining Love
Deadpool/Wade Wilson X Fem!Plus Sized Reader
Request: I was just wondering if you could do a deadpool x plus size reader, something fluffy. Mutual pining, wade playfully teasing, that kinda thing you get the vibe? mutant would be cool but I honestly can’t think of what kinda mutant so you could just have fun with it and surprise me if you wanna haha. As for the gender, female or gender neutral is fine. Can’t think of anything else to add. I haven’t been ~engaging~ in the marvel universe since deadpool 1 came out way back when so I honestly have no idea what’s going on with the lore or anything but you don’t have to worry about spoilers or anything I really don’t care for it that much any more ya feel me? Hope you enjoy your day love :)
Warnings: Swearing, Sexual Innuendos, Light Mention of Drinking
A/N: This is horrendously late, like I’m pretty sure you requested this in June😬. I’m so sorry it took me so long to get this out but I really hope you enjoy. I also totally stole Kitty Pryde’s power for the reader because I forgot she existed when I began writing this, so I apologize for that as well lol. @soggy-enchilada
The scent of fresh cut grass drifted through the open windows of the X-Mansion, wafting into your nose as you fanned yourself with your hand.
It was a hot summer day in New York, and unfortunately for you and your fellow residents of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, the air conditioning in the old manor had shit itself.
You sat in the lounge near the open window, allowing the barely there breeze to soothe your heated skin.
Ellie and Yukio sat on the couch across from you, Yukio’s legs resting in Ellie’s lap as she read from a book. Even the extreme heat couldn’t keep the couple apart.
Piotr, who was unbothered by the heat due to his mutation, simply flipped through channels on the tv, finally stopping on some old western flick.
You closed your eyes, relishing in the relaxation of the day. It was a perfect day to just be lazy and relax, and those days weren’t often when you were an X-Man.
The sound of the front door slamming open caught your attention, and Wade Wilson waltzed into the room, decked in his iconic red and black costume.
“Great.” Ellie grumbled, rolling her eyes at the Merc with a mouth.
“Zip it warhead.” Wade snapped back as he made his way around the room. “It’s hot as balls in here.” He complained.
“Air conditioner broke.” You replied.
“Where’s storm when you need her?” Wade huffed as he plopped down beside you, arm going around your shoulders, the two of you oblivious to the gazes of your friends.
It wasn’t uncommon for you and Wade to be close to one another, having known each other before Wade’s mutation was activated.
You, like Wade, used to be a mercenary for hire. The two of you would cross paths at Sister Margaret’s, complimenting each other on your latest kills and betting on who could get a job done quicker. You usually came out victorious, milking Wade for his cash and teasing him about his loss. Though you had to admit, you were a bit of a cheater. You’re mutation of intangibility allowed you to phase through solid objects as well as people, which helped significantly in your line of work and gave you an advantage over Wade.
You weren’t proud of your mercenary work. Taking lives wasn’t something you enjoyed, but being a mutant made it hard to find work so you took what you could get. Luckily for you, Charles Xavier found you and took you in, allowing you a chance at redemption as well as a job that saved lives instead of taking them.
Soon, you found yourself an X-Man, and had reconnected with Wade when Piotr had dragged you along to put a stop to the red clad anti hero’s usual shenanigans, though you’d only see him so much.
When Vanessa died and Wade became a full time X-Man himself, the two of you began to grow closer, always seen together or not at all.
His crude sense of humor and scarred face never bothered you. He was your best friend, and you wouldn’t change your relationship for the world. Even if it meant keeping your feelings at bay.
You would be lying if you said you didn’t have feelings for Wade that strayed from friendly, but you weren’t willing to put your friendship at risk, and decided that hiding your feelings was better than the embarrassment of rejection.
The feeling of Wade’s hand rubbing your arm brought you from your thoughts and you turned your attention back to him.
“You okay?” He asked, his tone was playful but you knew him enough to know he was actually concerned.
“Yeah, just thinking.”
“Thinking of me naked?” He teased.
“You wish.” You snorted, playfully elbowing him in the rib.
“Yes I do.” He replied, which earned him another elbow to the rib. “Wanna get out of here?” He proposed.
“And go where?” You raised a brow at him as he stood.
“Sister Margaret’s, like back in the day. I’ll even have Weasel give us a couple of blowjobs.” He winked.
Piotr cleared his throat and sent Wade a glare. “There are young ears present.” He grumbled, which made Wade scoff.
“It’s a drink, iron ass. Don’t get your panties in a twist.” Wade responded, and before you knew it his hand was in yours and you were being dragged outside to your car.
It wasn’t long before you were putting your car in park and heading into the home for wayward girls turned bar with Wade directly on your heels.
Weasel was the first to notice your presence and grinned at the two of you as you approached the bar. “Y/N! Long time no see. What’s it been? Four years?” He asked as he cleaned the glass he held.
“About that.” You shrugged. You hadn’t been back to Sister Margaret’s since meeting Charles Xavier all those years ago. You had nothing against the place or the people, even though you knew their line of work. You were once in their shoes, so you really had no room to judge them. It was just that you had gotten so caught up in being a hero that you didn’t have time for checking in with your old friends. You glanced up and snorted at the board that sat above Weasel’s head. Even after four years your name was still up there.
Weasel followed your gaze and smiled sheepishly at you. “Hey, you’re with the big leagues now. Makes you more popular.”
“You mean more likely to die.” You sassed and Weasel sent a playful shrug your way.
Wade’s hand found it’s way on your hip as he leaned next to you, as he himself read the board. Your heart fluttered at the contact but you ignored it, opting to order a drink from Weasel instead.
After throwing the shot back, you turned toward Wade. “I’m gonna head to the bathroom, I’ll meet you at the pool table after, yeah?”
“Sounds good.” He said, giving your hip a squeeze as you walked off.
He watched you until you were out of sight and turned back towards Weasel.
“Since when did that start?” Weasel asked, and Wade titled his head in confusion.
“What are you talking about?”
“The two of you? When did you guys get together?”
Wade scoffed. “We didn’t. We’re just friends.”
“Just friends? You haven’t left her side since the two of you have been here, which is rare since you’re usually bouncing around here like a ping pong ball to piss everyone off.” Weasel snorted. “Plus considering you haven’t said something offensive or pissed her off yet means you definitely like her.”
“What are you? My therapist? We’re just friends so fuck off.” Wade grumbled, and even though he could deny Weasel’s accusations, he couldn’t deny the fluttering in his stomach whenever you were near him.
“Come on Wade, I’m not stupid so don’t lie to me. It’s like you and Vanessa all over again.”
Wade let out a huff as he frowned. “I’m not, and even if I was it doesn’t matter, she says we’re friends, so we’re friends. Now do your best to weasel your way out of my love life.”
Weasel narrowed his eyes. “Haha, very funny. Haven’t heard that one before.”
“Well maybe if you minded your business, you wouldn’t have to hear that joke, now would you?” Wade replied, snatching the cup Weasel was drying out of his hand and reaching over the counter to fill it full of beer.
“Wade!” He turned, seeing you waving at him from the pool table and quickly made his way over to you, fresh drink in hand.
The rest of the afternoon went by quickly, the pair of you playing pool and drinking cheap alcohol, laughing obnoxiously at the crappy jokes shared between the two of you.
Before you knew it your stomach was growling and it was already six pm. “You ready to head out?” You asked Wade as you put your empty glass on the bar.
He stretched his arms above his head. “Yeah. We heading back to the manor?” He asked.
You shook your head. “Nah, thought we’d head to my old apartment and order a pizza.”
You said as you grabbed your car keys from the hook near the front door.
“You still have that place?” Wade questioned.
You nodded. “Yeah. Kept it for a year or two after I got recruited by the professor just in case I ever wanted to opt out. I didn’t want to end up homeless if I left so I kept it to have a place to go. I keep it now for whenever I need a break from the manor.” You shrugged.
The two of you walked outside. Wade cursed as he noticed the pouring rain that had started while the two of you were hanging out in the bar. He turned towards you and held out his hand.
You rolled your eyes. “I only try to use it in emergency’s Wade. This isn’t really an emergency.”
“Please? I’ll pay for pizza.” He begged.
You stared at the red and black mask, eyes narrowed as you glared at him. He didn’t budge and it didn’t take you long before you were grumbling, snatching his hand into yours and activating your mutation.
The two of you walked into the rain, but instead of getting the drenched, the rain went right through the two of you.
Wade moaned and you could feel your eyes roll in the back of your head. “It always feel nice when you make things go through me.” He teased.
It didn’t take the two of you long to get back into your car, dry and still hungry. Wade ordered pizza as you drove to the old rundown apartment building you used to call a home.
The two of you walked down the hall of the complex until you reached door 37, and you grabbed Wade’s hand once more, heading into your apartment through the door. Legitimately.
“Sorry about the mess, I haven’t been here in a while.” You said as your hand slipped out of his and you turned on the lights, illuminating dirty clothes and old take out cartons. You flexed your fingers, already missing the feeling of his hand in yours.
“Doesn’t bother me, Oscar the Grouch.” He shrugged as he hopped onto the couch, kicking off the chinese take out carton that sat on the arm.
You grabbed a couple of cokes from your fridge and snatched the remote to the TV as you passed it before taking a seat next to him. You handed him the remote as well as a coke before you made yourself comfortable, leaning into his side as he put on some stupid romcom you paid no attention to.
It’s not like you could focus with Wade’s hand running up and down your bare arm, his fingers leaving goosebumps in their wake.
You allowed yourself to close your eyes, relishing in the soft moment and pretending that for just a second, the two of you could be more than friends.
His hand left your arm, and you almost shivered at how cold you felt without his touch before you felt gloved fingers touching your lips.
Your eyes snapped open, and Wade’s head hovered above you, mask lifted just below his nose.
It was like the world around the two of you stopped, the two of the only ones in motion. The noise of the TV faded away as Wade’s warm breath fanned over your face and you could’ve sworn your heart stopped.
You lifted your hands slowly, as if any sudden movement would have Wade slipping from your grasp.
You grabbed hold of the bottom of his mask, and gently pulled it up. Over his nose, the top of his cheeks, his eyes, and then completely off his face.
He let you, soft chocolate eyes staring into your own.
You let the mask drop, bringing your hands back up to caress his face.
He leaned into your touch, letting his eyes close as he hummed.
And then you were leaning in, and so was he. You could feel his breath on your lips, centimeters away from connecting with his own.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
The two of you pulled away from each other quickly, the moment ruined.
“It’s the pizza.” Wade mumbled.
You nodded, mind still foggy from the events that had taken place only moments ago. “I’ll get it.” You mumbled.
You stood, grabbing the twenty Wade had left on the coffee table that sat in front of your couch and phased through the front door, the top half of your body sticking out into the hall.
The teenage boy holding your pizza gasped, almost dropping the pie. Served him right for interrupting.
You stared at him and he gulped. “Um… $16.52 please.” He squeaked.
You snatched the pizza from him, throwing the cash at him as you headed back inside, tossing a “Keep the change.” at him.
You turned around, pizza in hand as you stepped out of the door, turning off your mutation.
In mere seconds lips were on yours, and this time the pizza did drop to the floor. Wade used the opportunity to grab ahold of your hands, pulling you into him, his lips never leaving yours.
You were quick to respond, wrapping your arms around the back of his neck as you kissed him back with just as much vigor.
Wade began to speak in between kisses. “I talked to Weasel.” Kiss. “He told me,” Kiss. “that I was in love with you.” Kiss. “I told him,” Kiss. “I wasn’t.”
He pulled away finally, allowing you to catch some much needed air.
“I lied.” He said.
You pulled him back towards you, giving him another smack on the lips before you were grinning at him.
“Good, because I love you too.” You replied.
“Glad you said so, I’ll get the strap.”
“Moment ruined, Wade.”
