My This Bites! Theories: Consequences
For as many good changes that happen (Ace and Merry surviving, Noland getting vindicated) there has been just as many consequences that has happen with this being a list of ones I think will happen
A pre-existing consequence from before the time skip is that absolute justice marines are more involved in the new world, to put it into perspective imagine the ending of Dressrosa if someone like Akainu was there.
Another pre-existing consequence was teased in the denouncement which revealed that the new fish-man pirate officers' hatred was a lot worse and for how pathetic they can be in the end it could still end up with them doing something just as dangerous.
While the strawhats haven't encountered buggy in canon not including stampede, this version of him would still end up as a MUCH bigger threat due to stopping to holdback who can go toe to toe with Mihawk, someone not even canon post time skip Zoro could do let alone this version of him.
Not only is Shiki part of the Blackbeard pirates but who knows what Teach will do considering what happened in Marineford Misery alongside Aokiji likely not joining him which if Garp still ends up in Hachinosu would suck unless he still ends up stepping in to save Garp.
Who knows what kind of chaos Douglas Bullet will cause while being a warlord considering that stampede was already a cluster-f*ck and yes while the warlord system is basically abolished by the time it happens who knows still what he has been able to do with the resources and opportunities as one.
With the sort of chaos the strawhats are known to cause who aren't to say that the world government would send a cp0 agent after them who could do all sorts of stuff including reporting back info that could lead to most of the stuff I mention below.
Many random marines might've become disowned, ostracized, divorced or are treated as piranha's for either having been a marine, still being one despite what's been revealed which was kind of shown during the sabaody revolution in louge town.
On a similar note imagine how many kids like Yoko or even Koby (when Luffy first met him) that would probably end up bullied or avoided due to thinking that the marines are the good guys, wanting to become one or even wanting to pretend to be one in a game.
Who knows if Caeser's scene in Thriller Bark was just a. one of thing or something he has actually worked on on the side since then
Due to having lost most of their giants with the exception of John (which is if something hasn't happened to him at this point) it wouldn't be surprising if the government ended up taking the giant kids from punk hazard and continued Caesar's experiments on them to get a new army of giants with it only being few things that could save them including; Cross and the SBS which would make everyone aware of what happened as well as the parents managing to notify if the kids don't end up returning or Tashigi due to how she's basically become untouchable thanks to Cross so it would be harder for something to happen to them.
While Shuzo is just a filler villain and not even a memorable one at that, due to how Zephyr and Ain changed this might see him become a bigger threat in the sense of still sticking to those hateful old ideals, basically becoming the Hody to Zephyr's Arlong (Zephyr's anger is justified while Shuzo is just hate)
While this version of Z might be versioning will likely not try to blow up everything, it's still worrisome in which direction he could go even with the SBS
It's likely that the straw hat alliance will loose most of their secrecy they originally had since not only is it likely that Doflamingo will see it coming with THEM involved but could lead to a more direct fight which who knows what Doflamingo might do that could even be worse than the bird cage (the only positive thing is that Dressrosa would be a bit shorter)
With this version of the Bellamy pirates surviving this would mean that he would have much more back up (even if they wouldn't be more than easily defeated grunts) as you have to remember that Belay still stuck to his admission of Doflamingo even when knowing how wrong they where.
While yes it might seem repetitive with what happened to Vivi but one thing you have to remember is that those laws still kind of exist and since Cross would definitely broadcast the strawhats defeating Doflamingo meaning it would also include princess Rebecca. before you say that soundbite could simply blur her voice, not only are there probably hundreds still smart enough to put two and two together but also thousands of witnesses and while the citizen probably wouldn't tell, there's probably enough marines that would alongside Doflamingo himself who could pull a Crocodile. The only life lines I see is the marines not wanting the backlash of doing the same thing that basically started the SBS, or this tougher version of Rebecca already ending up joining (the latter of which can feel unlikely in some places as she can just as well become tougher in the sense of actually deciding to stay and rule her country, but it would still be nice for Vivi to have a little sister figure)
As I mentioned before higher up, since Cross would most likely broadcast the citizen of Dressrosa run to protect them, it would give Akainu a good reason to attack them for working with pirates and before you say that it would only make the marines' reputation worse... what's the possibility of it still being something they will care about at this point which applies to most of what's above and below.
With Cross likely broadcasting his adventures in Zou (as well as it being likely that Carrot will end up joining) which would make the entire world aware of minks in which mostly the new world knew about them in canon including bad people and while it would be hard to find due to Zunesha moving, it wouldn't be impossible as one is to never underestimate greed or determination.
Since this version of the straw hats are seen as a serious threat, Jack will likely go up to Out to directly attack them himself and while the straw hats would most likely defeat them, it's still no telling with what kind of damage he and his subordinates could cause.
A reminder that while the system will end up abolished, the straw hats have very few allies within the Warlords alongside the benefits it had. Jinbei, and Hancock left, Perona who's their only ally still within the system is far from strong and the marines are bound to keeping an eye on her considering what happened to the former two that I mentioned. This leaves Mihawk who while not evil is still neutral enough to go after them with his interest in the crew succeeding being the only lifeline, Buggy who's an direct enemy who would definitely fight them and as I mentioned above is now a serious threat, Douglas Bullet & Doflamingo full stop and Kuma who's braindead.
The denouncement also teased that Kaido will be more powerful which considering that Luffy lost multiple times before even being able to catch up with him with Gear 5 could be a major problem unless his crew wasn't a challenge enough to actually make him stronger.
Who knows how different the beast pirates could be after the denouncement as this could lead to multiple different headliners appearing including Speed maybe written out, someone who had a huge part in protecting Otama as well as the discovery that her powers work on them.
Since Yamato is likely to join the straw hats, that means that unless something else happens, neither Ulti or Page One will become good guys which is minor of they don't end up saved from Who's Who unless he doesn't get taken care of.
With these version of the Marines being much more hated, this would make the Cross Guild's bounties on them much more prominent which would sadly include actually decent marines.
With basically every cp squad having joined Jormundgandr except Cp0 (which who knows what their fate will be post wano) who knows whom the WG will end up sending out to Egghead instead which could include the devil dogs, all shown to be extremely powerful warriors who could go the to toe with whitebeard pirates or the BioMegas which while characters like the monster trio, Jinbei or Yamato (who's likely to join) would easily defeat them but as shown in Amazon treachery where powerful individuals like sandersonia and marigold struggled against ONE, it would be much harder for more or less the rest of the crew to fight where even the bigger powerhouses like Nami or Vivi would have a hard time.
Cross might end up pushing Imu to the point where they just say f- it we're the villains and fully takes over the world making the SBS exposing stuff in a sense obsolete and if not that it might be something else like destroying Alabasta or Dressrosa or who knows what.
The fact that the marines and world government could become so hated in general so it doesn't even matter how good of a person you are like Smoker, Tashigi or T-Bone. If it's a marine then they're the bad guys for they still wear that symbol.

As One Piece goes on, I dread the approaching end. What comforts me is that, with it, we’ll eventually see the second saga of This Bites! by Xomniac and Co! So in the meantime, I got myself some Jeremiah Cross fanart and I’m thinking of doing some Soundbite fanart myself so I can have both of the Voices of Anarchy. XD Seriously, EPIC fanfiction that made me laugh and laugh and laugh.
My favorite One Piece self insert fanfiction
There are exactly 3 SI that I really like when it comes to self inserts in One Piece. Mind you I have not much knowledge over everything over the punk hazard arc, but I sure did watch the first 200 episodes many times as a kid! Just absolutely love One Piece and certainly will start to watch it again!
Technically some are more OC then self insert, but the gist is the same.
1. This Bites by Xomniac

Is probably the most praised SI of them all! I love it too! It is a long, but fun read with the occasional serious moment. Yet it makes the SI feel like a part of that world while keeping the spirit of the original story the same. Cross the SI, gets thrown into One Piece on an Island, with a baby snail that has a devil fruit. They join the Straw hats after 2 weeks of being stranded on that deserted island. Point is the point of time where the Strawhats story is, is shortly before Logue town but after Arlong has already been defeated. I can recommend anyone who loves Self inserts and is looking for one in One Piece to give this one a read!
Currently has 79 chapters and a word count of ~1.885.000 words! Absolute fun to binge read! And certainly a story, that got far without ever being abondend, it is still ongoing!

2. Twelve Red Lines by Vikingr

My personal favorite! Probably because I can relate to Jones the SI of this story. While there are darker topics, like depression, suicide, self harm and other dark stuff, like “This Bites” there are plenty of fun and hilarious moments too! The author deleted the story once before, but I am glad it’s back! I adore this story. So this story starts with Jones being the Self Insert landing or pretty much waking up on the Straw hats ship after a successful suicide attempt. Though that may be debately considering Jones is alive now. She joins the crew, not that she had a choice, and point of time is before Sanji joins, they are on their way to the restaurant at that time. While the story is different from This Bites in plenty of ways, this is my personal favorite! If you like darker topics and not just sunshine and rainbows I recommend reading Twelve Red Lines!
Currently has 35 chapters with a word count of ~700.000 words! Believe me when I say it is well written! It is still ongoing!

3. SI Seeking Straw Hat by Undying Soul98

While this one is not anywhere the level of writing of the previous two, I just find this story pure comedy gold. Surely one of the better SI out there, but can’t compare to “This Bites” or Twelve Red Line, tho nothing will be comparable to the two anyway. I digress. This story also8 manages to capture the fun aspects of the original One Piece story, while being completely of canon. This SI tries to join the Straw hats, but seems to miss them by about a day. The SI actively seeks the Straw hats, and point of time? Around East Blue. This story gives fun arcs on different Islands then the original story would give, which makes it a lot of fun. Just absolutely hilarious read. Though I doubt this story should be taken seriously, yet I recommend to give it a light read.
Currently at 9 chapters with a word count of ~66.000 words. I am not sure if the story will be continued, but I still recommend reading it.

End note: I in particular am not interested in SI in One Piece that are outside of the Straw Hats story. So there may be a lot more stories that are pretty good.
Yet often I see SI falter at certain arcs, which is why I like the first 2 a lot. The 3rd is just hilarious, but still well written.
I have a bit of a high standard when it comes to word count, I don’t like reading chapters that are less than like 5k words long. There are some stories that can do that and that I like, but I preferably read stories with an average word count per chapter of 10k+, but eh it is fanfiction, can’t be that picky.
So anyway, I’ll be recommending a couple of my favorite stories, especially SI’s on this blog. No, no one asked me to. I just want to share my favorites so others can enjoy it too.
Folks, why is "This Bites!" so damn good? I've been so busy this summer and this story has just been the perfect way to decompress after a long day. I don't even like the concept of "self-insert" stories, but this is just so damn good.
