Teapot once again offering up balanced and fair commentary on the Xoyondo board, something of a rarity we know. While we have already addressed the impact of Shadowlands on roleplay, it seems uniquely damaging to the PCU for some strange reason where it has not harmed others. Perhaps it is their culture of intense jingoism which no longer has a place within the current lore or the issue that the focus is on another plane/world, though this did not stop the Rotgarde back in Warlords of Draenor. Teapot correctly picks up on the absence of Perroy as a driving factor. As Perroy directly controls over half of the PCU guilds, his delegated officers are likely now operating without oversight or direction which inevitably will lead to some confusion as to what should be done. Teapot speculates that Perroy may still be around, in a diminished capacity however. We reason that that would be even worse than an absence as what could be more demoralising for players than seeing their once active and “charismatic” leader reduced to a passive and apathetic shadow? The next point on rapid expansion has been picked up on by us here at CoAD before a few times. The PCU’s obsession with filling niches has stretched them beyond breaking point now. This can be clearly seen by the decaying of Defias and Far Delvers this year alone. Teapot correctly states that the combination of overreach and lower numbers has likely caused tensions within other PCU guilds, such as the Ebon Onslaught. Recall Arindha was forcibly removed and their members are not satisfied with their membership inside the PCU now. Expansionism has its limits and we are starting to see the elastic band spring back with surprising results.
Teapot goes on to make a very valid and interesting statement on the nature of the official forums. They have indeed become something of an issue there due to their many [PCU] threads clogging it up like some sort of attention starved e-celebrity. Combined with their “us vs them” mentality, something we here at CoAD only adopted purely because they would not engage meaningfully with us, it has driven a wedge in the community that will not soon be redressed simply on the grounds the PCU higher ups believe they are completely in the right 100% of the time and have nothing to atone or even apologise for to the many players they have infringed upon over the years. Teapot goes onto offer more insight, the militaristic type guilds of the PCU are likely why the interest has fallen due to the irrelevance of such a guild in a post-BFA world. Referring to the tactics done in the cesspit of PCU controlled AD discord, this is genuinely what happens, unsuspecting players are pulled in and directed to only PCU guilds, despite the claims it represents all of Argent Dawn.
Finally, we agree there needs to be more done to counteract the PCU presence, more guilds that are similar but not affiliated with them. While Teapot gives a moderate position on #NoPCU, we maintain that a firm division between PCU and Non-PCU guilds is necessary to prevent the former from infiltrating and sabotaging their competition as they have been shown to do very recently. Perroy and his higher ups do not see RP as anything more than a means to increase their own ego at the expense of others. “Winning” is all they care about in the end. Non-PCU hubs such as the RP Announce channel ( https://www.argentarchives.org/node/113584 ) link to the server in here, and the Dalaran community would indeed be excellent counterbalances to the suffocating presence of the PCU.
Another report from within the PCU gulag, this unfortunate player in the (now disbanded) Far Delvers decided to come forth and share their story with our xoyonodo community. They raise a number of points that we have also mentioned over the years. Individual players within various PCU communities are largely either coerced or face trouble for not engaging in the daily quota of jingoistic propaganda. “Nirixa” also correctly states that there are good people within the PCU, trapped within a system they didn’t realise they were getting into at the time. They decry the average treatment PCU member, unaware of the higher ups scheming and generally atrocious behaviour, being forced to be used as a bot/footman to report posts they dislike or give likes out ONLY to those who the PCU approve. Our sympathies go out to this player for their impossible position they are in, remain in the PCU and not get harassed but feel themselves being dragged into more and more pointless struggles or leave and be free but likely be doxxed, harassed and forced to retract statements under duress? Neither is a great outcome. To further add to the veracity of this claims not less than an hour after this was posted did obvious PCU drones swarm in trying to push the post down out of sight and generally draw attention after them.
We can only hope Nirixa found a solution that removed themselves from this incel clown squad while maintaining the safety of themselves and their friends in their online interactions. It is quite interesting to consider that Nirixa posted this a mere two weeks before the collapse of the Far Delvers itself. Perhaps they knew the game was up?
One amusing thing our xoyondo moderator found last week while idly scrolling through on their night shift was this interesting snippet of information. It appears Morsteth also appears to nocturnally browse the board and the official Argent Dawn forums at the same time, as evidenced by this additional screengrab.
How curious the times are almost perfectly aligned with a small delay between posts for alt-tabbing, thinking of an identity to impersonate and then write something attempting to be provocative in the process.
What was the term they all love using? Rent free? Nice to know that we have your attention while the majority of us are sound asleep, Morsteth.
Depravity of the PCU
As you may know the Xoyondo board we have been using was taken down by their moderators, expressly on an overload of connections. In short DDoSing we believe. Not that we are entirely surprised at this turn of events, it just shows the PCU goons (Hello Morsteth, Coalburnt, Anno.) are very fragile men and are willing to use any means possible to shut down those presenting something contrary to their propaganda. We are already in talks with another long term contributor for a new board. We are also searching for alternative platforms that could be of similar use. Please do resume your posting everyone, their pathetic attempts to censor valid and critical discussion of their heinous actions is more amusing to us than anything else.
It would seem there has been something of a stir over our PCU guild list going public, especially in regards to the Ebon Onslaught. We were informed by a source over our official discord feed that the EO were in fact in the process of disentangling themselves since the departure of Arindha. Recently however it seems that the PCU have tried to downplay the statement made in Arindha’s name as being fake. “kaz” makes a very good observation however about the situation. Why Arindha of all people to impersonate? And how did they get the sentiment entirely correct, that there is discontent within the Ebon Onslaught and they wish to leave? Both kaz and “Pragmatism” offer between themselves a very interesting consideration, it is more likely that a relatively unknown and clearly uninterested in politicking guild leader would make a statement of regret reflecting the overall state of affairs than someone attempting to impersonate them.
As the PCU have shown repeatedly on the Xoyondo board, for those frequent viewers, they are the only ones (with the exception of a small band of people obsessed with Agitator) who go out of their way to impersonate people. Our sentiment from the team here at CoAD generally reflects the two mentioned posters. We fully support the Ebon Onslaught’s desire to disentangle themselves from the sinking PCU ship, the first of many to come no doubt. We sincerely hope they find fruitful and enjoyable times outside of the grasp of Perroy and his cult.
