He’d been up for a couple nights in a row.
Without another person to pilot his small fishing vessel, he had to stay awake to steer it though the rough waters. He couldn’t afford to leave it still for the purpose of sleep - he knew too well what the unwatched waves could do to boats. At dawn, he’d finally hit the shores of Korea, exhaustion never truly hitting him till his feet touched the sand.
Needless to say, the fatigue got the better of him. Using all the energy that remained to tie his boat down, he just barely managed to drop some blankets before falling asleep on the shore. Thankfully it didn’t seem to be particularly populated - only the occasional wanderer enjoying a morning walk.
The waves lulling him into a steady slumber, he doesn’t let himself worry. Yet Yorigami, crawling out of the ocean in his shrunken form, shakes the waters away and joins him on the blankets for all of three minutes before playing in the sand. He was free of scolding - or being thrown straight back to the ocean - from his master who slept so soundly.
In his skittering about the sand, he doesn’t notice the approaching human moving down the beach, too enthused with the waters and letting his little feet stink in wet sand.
