I read that Ghaunadaur looks like… a regular drow. That's funny. He's also supposedly a pretty old god and the drow aren't his first followers. He just hangs out there in Demonweb Pits.

On the left, the Yochlol! This shapechanging tentacle demon is like a 7 foot (2.1 m) pile of melting candle wax! It can read or dominate minds, ensnare with webs, and are the unusual demon that can find genuine friendship and love with mortals.

The cyclops on the right is 12 foot (3.7 m) tall, which makes them small for a giant but still big for you! They're herders that usually live alone, but stay within a day's travel of others for trade. They're a bit dumb and have bad depth perception, but come on. Nobody hates the cyclops!

Many of the creatures in the 1983 AD&D Monster Manual II first appeared in adventure modules, a few debuted in the Monster Cards packs, and others were brand new.  Some of the more memorable entries include the aboleth, behir, duergar, froghemoth, tarrasque, thri-kreen, and yuan ti -- the latter two appear on the contents page reading their own book.  (Jim Holloway illus)
