Nintendo Switch: My Exercise Game Ranking!
I have recently been getting into shape using my Nintendo Switch, yup you read that right. And it is kind of working? It is amazing. The Wii touched on this potential and the switch ran with it and blew it up. Go big or stay home, and they really have. But, what is the most effective and why?
Now this ranking is made from my opinion and my findings on my apple watch. I feel like I tried or heard of them all in the process of making a routine to stick to:
Fitness Boxing: I love the original compared to the sequel. They are the same price and both offer demos. Calorie wise, for 30 minutes I burned 273 calories.
Knockout Home Fitness: From research I did not like this game for the fact that it was similar to boxing but also another full body workout game. Maybe on its own its got more value? I tried the demo, this is a martial arts based workout. Calore wise, for 30 minutes I burned 241 calories.
Yoga Master: Yoga is gentle but can be great for toning the body and losing weight. While you can just look up yoga videos, having the instructor talk to you and the game give you feedback helps you improve. Calorie wise, I burned 186 calories in 30 minutes.
Jump Rope Challenge: Cute game, great price, and extremely effective for how basic it is. Calorie wise, for 30 minutes I burned 243 calories.
Sport & Fun: Swimming: Great gentle exercise, good for learning 4 strokes. Adult and kid friendly. Calorie wise, for 30 minutes I burned 228 calories.
Zumba-Burn It Up: Dance is a great exercise to get the whole body moving in a fun way. While there is a small list of songs, you can improve on the songs over time. Calorie wise, for 30 minutes I burned 184 calories.
Ring Fit: I had this for a minute, I was off and on pregnant and unable to use it. Most people in research phase like this but it doesn’t give the best workout. Its a very good overall workout. Calore wise, I burned 240 calories in 30 minutes.
Switch Sports: I love this. I played this for a while not recording it as a workout on my watch. It can be intense and a lot like the sports but I like it as a weekend workout. Calore wise, in 30 minutes of Random Online play I burned 195 Calories. I plan to do a follow up post comparing 30 mins of just one sport.
Sit-Ups Workout: I got this in a bundle and was excited for this to give the legs a break during recovery from Yoga. It ended up crashing my game just trying to play it. I ended up trying this game again and realized it was touch controls. Could be way more instruction to tell you that. Calore wise, 15 minutes I burned 87 calories (I did 15 of sit up and 15 of push up)(189 calories for 30 minutes).
Push-Ups Workout: Part of the above bundle. Same story. Sadly. I ended up trying this game again and realized it was touch controls. Could be way more instruction to tell you that. Calorie wise, 15 minutes I burned 102 calories (I did 15 of sit up and 15 of push up)(189 calories for 30 minutes).
Active Life Outdoor Challenge: This game came up as I was considering rehoming my ringcon and replacing it with another cardio game. This is a US remake of a game from another part of the world. Good game for family. Calorie wise, In a half hour I burned 191 calories.
Let’s Get Fit: This game was different in the fact I learned more about it on Youtube, they did not offer a demo. I liked this as a more variety game-not just yoga or boxing or harder stuff but all of it. I was going to get this game but I tried Knockout and liked it more than I thought I would and research showed this to meh. No calorie burn here to report.
Just Dance 2023: This might appeal to someone who is appreciating more modern music but for me, this is too close to zumba. I think Zumba does it better. But this would be newer, and I did hear generally good things in research. No calorie burn here to report.
Fitness Circuit: In the research phase, this looked really good. I tried it, and someone else did too. It read some moves but not others and I ended up deleting the demo. No calorie burn here to report.

Be very careful if you are going to work out every day. You need to change it up, let the muscles rest when they get sore, and make sure your diet is ready to aid your journey. Vitamins at night and during the day will help the muscles stay safe. 30 minutes a day keep the doctors grumbling away! What games do you think should join this ranking?
