The Power of your Breath. INHALE - EXHALE Our breath is something that comes so naturally to us, something that we are born with and it does not require any effort to achieve. We hear people say all the time. Just breathe and it will be ok. But what is this power of our breath-what does it do for us other than keep us alive? Plenty! Our breath has some magical powers. Scientific research is showing that mindful breathing-paying attention to your breath is one of the most effective ways to lower every day stress levels and improve a variety of health factors ranging from your mood to your metabolism. Want to be able to get through a tough workout? Use your BREATH. EXHALE every time you feel like giving up or when you are struggling through an exercise. For example: push-ups. When do you inhale and when do you exhale? INHALE on the way down and EXHALE on the way up. Because on the way UP is the HARDEST part and when you EXHALE , the BREATH helps you get through it. Also why it’s called a push up and not a push down.😁😁 All jokes aside, the power of our breath is also an excellent and natural tool for our emotional well-being. When you’re stressed during the day and feel that everything is falling apart around you, stop everything and try this breathing exercise: ▪️Inhale 4 counts ▪️Hold at the top 4 counts ▪️Big exhale 4 counts. Repeat this sequence for 5 minutes. If you need some answers to a difficult situation in your life, breathe first and then ask for help . Those few moments your body and mind will be in a better shape and you’ll be actually able to hear the guidance. Those few moments of stopping to breathe has an enormous effect on your health and emotional well-being. BREATHE deep INHALE all that is good EXHALE all that isn’t And KNOW that tomorrow will be better. #yogabreath #breathedeep #inhaleexhale #powerofyourbreath https://www.instagram.com/p/CDylvUllWu6/?igshid=1gt9hslhwgqbd
Do you practise pranyama as part of your yoga practise? Did you know that many traditional practises do not believe that practitioners should be learning specific breathing exercises unless or until they have mastered physical postures? It makes sense; we need to know and understand how our body works and reacts, so from the outside in with observation seems intelligent. What do you think? Check my little bloggy thing on my website or Facey page and tell me what you think x #pranyama #yogabreath #yogatherapy #howyogaworks (at Yogasphere: Integrated Health & Movement-Based Solutions) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4MbhlPA0WX/?igshid=1358gbpfpe0j2
To breathe is, literally, to not be dead. But what is the quality of the life of the breather? How does the breath influence the life of the breather? Prana is a main focus of Yoga. The Taoist's of China called the Life Force energy Qi, or Chi, the Hindus, Prana. It is the same essence of being, but it is not only the name it is given that differs; with names come concepts, and belief systems. And consciousness. Perception of what the "life force" is, is a vital distinction of degrees of consciousness. Is the breather aware of his or her breath? How aware is the breather, exactly? Aware of consciousness, or not? What causes this awareness? There is no life without breath. Think of the Hebrew term "rûah" - it includes breath a part of ”the Divine Presence". Latin has "spiritus" - Spirit - at the root of breath viz. “respiration.” The Greek term for breath was "pneuma" and directly referred to the Holy Spirit (equal with the Father and the Son) and the power (of the Spirit). Interestingly, also indicates spirit as a personalised force i.e. the vital force by which the body is animated. The energy by which the human being "is human"; rational, feeling, thinking, discerning (as opposed to not those qualities). In other words the soul is an essence, connects man in a life giving spirit, a human soul, in the body, a spirit higher than man, but lower than God. The Highest Divine Nature is the pneuma disposition which influences and governs the soul, of any one being, to be the an efficient source of power - through a movement of air, of the wind, hence the wind itself, breath of nostrils. Focus on the breath. It is the Breath of Life. #breath #breathe #pranayama #yogabreath #chi #prana #johannkotzeyoga #johannkotzemusic (at Johann Kotze Music & Yoga) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3uqP3MpHPg/?igshid=bnwbvo71jak8
