HIGH-SCHOOL SWEETHEARTS + YOSHIDA HIROFUMI

you meet your high-school sweetheart after years of not seeing him!!

you remember he was gorgeous during high-school. yoshida was one of the prettiest boys not only in your class, but, and everyone agreed, in the entire school. and you were close to him. and you loved him. you thought he felt the same – he told you more than once about his feelings and you two almost started to date – and you thought you two would end up sticking together after graduation. until he disappeared completely one day.

you thought something happened because of his job. in the next weeks of his disappearance, you watched the news religiously, wanting to see if his face appeared as "young devil hunter victim of a devil attack". but no. nothing ever came up.

years later, you still thought about it. the old polaroids that you kept in a box, hidden in the deepest part of your closet, reminded you of his face and the future your younger self planned. one of the pictures was really dear for you. you were smiling at the camera, doing a peace sign with your hand; yoshida stood next to you, but he wasn't looking at the camera like you. he was looking at your smiling self, a soft smile on his lips. your hopes of seeing him again slowly died throughout the years and that box was just something that hurt you.

asa and denji, your high school friends, wanted to see you. for a long, really long, time, they kept on sending you texts and leaving voicemails on your phone to invite you out. your schedule made it really hard for you to fit a meet-up in, so you always end up refusing. but it's asa and denji. they would find a way.

and they did. you arrived from your university early; you were glad for that moment, because it would mean that you would be able to rest more and finally watch that movie you've been wanting to watch for weeks now. you opened the door for your apartment and a fit of giggles immediately hit your ears, and you know who they belong to.

"asa?" you called out and the girl's face popped up from behind the kitchen door. "what– how did you get in here?"

"surprise!" the girl and denji said in unison. you blinked in confusion and denji took some steps forward with your favorite dish on his hands. he smiled widely and said, "we thought about surprisin' you, heh."

with the way the duo looked like, you couldn't help, but smile. you really missed those dorks. "thanks, guys. but since when you two can cook without getting yourselves all dirty?"

"i made it." a deep voice said from behind them and, when the person stepped into your view, your breath caught in your throat. yoshida? "i made your favorite from back in high school. i hope you still enjoy it."

you opened and closed your mouth twice before simply nodding and murmuring a "y-yeah, i do."

asa seemed to notice the small tension and awkwardness that slowly started to build up; she grabbed denji's arm and started to pull him, making him leave the meal in the counter before they made their way to the living room. you were pretty sure that denji murmured a "wait, weren't they lovers or somethin'? why the fuck are you pullin' me away" before they were out of sight.

yoshida took a few steps forward, until he was right in front of you. he was taller and so much more handsome than you remember. his hair was shorter, he had two new lip piercings – snake bites, if you recalled the name right – and the way that his t-shirt hugged his body made you notice his toned muscles. his hand slowly came to hold your cheek and you let him.

"why did you leave?" these words slipped past your lips before you could stop them.

yoshida sighed and looked into your eyes, his dark irises seemed to engulf you inside them. "sorry 'bout that. i still don' know why i left. scared, i guess." he finished his sentence with a humourless chuckle. "could we start over? you can punch me if you want, i just–"

"not that early." you murmured, taking his hand away from your face. you started walking to the kitchen, softly bumping your shoulder on his while you were passing by the man. with the corner of your eye, you noticed his face drop and your heart clenched with the urge to forgive him. "you're gonna have to cook a lot for me before i fully forgive you. for free too."

the deep laughter that he did made you smile too. "yeah, sure. i need a place to stay anyway, i can be your butler."

Because he is still a minor in canon (even though I always thought him to be a 21 Jump St narc…), this will be kept rated PG.

Dating Yoshida

Yoshida is as bishounen as it gets in the CSM universe. His beauty even got the likes the Denji to admit he’s good looking and was also enough to make Asa even more socially awkward. Needless to say, you will be dating a very attractive & popular guy…you will be the target of envy. Be weary of becoming a target of petty gossip & general high schooler bvllying. 😢

He isn’t going to announce to everyone that you two are dating, but he won’t deny anything as well. The classmates and other students just have to do the investigative work and place the pieces together by themselves. He is also a weird one; he prefers to say “we are seeing each other” rather than the more socially used “we are dating”.

Yoshida is depicted as a sly individual who likes to keep people guessing while he safeguards his secrets, this will be reflected in your relationship. If you like to talk or enjoy the company of a listener, then Yoshida is the guy. He prefers to keep quiet and encourages you to go on and about your day. The less he says, the less of a chance he lets one of his secrets slip. 🤫 Chances are, you are completely unaware of complicated his devil hunting side job is.

Yoshida is very intelligent and incredibly smooth when it comes to crowd/damage control, you will be wrapped around his little finger and feeding off the palm of his hand. With a combination of white lies, he manipulates and gaslights you into following his narrative. He will probably use you as an alibi as well. It’s not that he doesn’t “care” about you or is “using” you, but he just prefers you to stay in the light while he operates out of the dark. It’s all for you safety…right?

Yoshida is a metrosexual. He puts enough care into his appearance to keep up with the latest fashion and skincare trends. Not to say that he will dictate your fashion sense or pressure you into a beauty routine, but he will never shy away from providing you with “tips”. He will be nonchalant and blunt about it, but his choice of words and tone will always be polite. Oh, he is very big on keeping your skin moisturized. Expect him to consistently remind you to drink water and to slap on a sheet mask. He will not shy away from telling you that your lips a crusty and you need to apply lip balm (which he always has on hand).

He may lack in the “spending quality time” department, but he will always make up for it by gifting you with things he thinks you would enjoy. He somehow always knows the best cafe spots with the cutest decorations. Loves taking pictures of you (once again, alibi) and he definitely knows the best lighting and angles. He would’ve been the best Instagram Influencer if he was born later. He also likes to gift you with cute things like cellphone/backpack charms and plushies. Sometimes you wonder if he has a sister or a girl bestie, because normally teenage boys aren’t familiar with these types of things.

He is not too big on acts of physical intimacy, but he is not shying away from it either. He has his boundaries (doesn’t like to be touched too often or in certain ways) and he expects you to respect them, as he will also respect yours. It starts off with holding hands, and then it upgrades into draping an arm over your shoulder and then evolving into pulling you in for a hug. The most extreme type of intimacy you would get from him would be a peck on the cheeks. He does this sparingly, and he absolutely adores how it catches you off guard and puts a light flush/heat onto your cheeks.

Yoshida keeps you on your toes. He will always take the time to read your texts, but this doesn’t mean he will reply to them immediately or even within an acceptable time period. Sometimes, he disappears from class and you don’t see/hear from him for an entire day or two. But, when you do see/talk to each other again, he always has a reason and somehow the lovestruck you will always understand and forgive. He doesn’t keep you chained, he will always ask if you are still happy and reassures you that you are still the one in his heart.

Yoshida headcanons (soft/comfort)

Soft HC

Yoshida loves to run his fingers through your hair. He likes to detangle all of those knots in your hair, knowing it irritates you when you brush it.

When you're not home, he likes to clean your side of the closet, organizing from colors, to pants, to shirts and shoes. He just doesn't like it when it's all cluttered and unorganized.

When he's not home, or when he thinks of you, he buys flowers and your favorite chocolate bar along with a little 'Thank you' letter to show his gratitude for you.

When you come home drunk, he makes sure to help you to the room, as he undresses you and takes off your makeup. He also places Advil and water by your nightstand, so when you wake up while he's at work... Your water and headache relief is there.

He rubs your feet after a long stroll around town, as he scolds you about wearing heels in not-so-special occasions.

He kisses you before he leaves to work, or when you're asleep he still leaves a small kiss on your head.

He'll fold your clothes when you're having a day, or when you forget your clothes were in the dryer.

He takes extra care of you after work/finals/occasions/nightouts.

Comfort HC

When you two get into a huge argument, he tried to come around with small talk around home. Trying to make you feel comfortable with him, even if you're still mad at him.

He'll bring you tea when you've been crying about something big/small, even if it wasn't a big deal.

Yoshida likes to give you small pats on the hand, back, head and thigh. Trying to let you know it's okay to cry when you're upset.

He'll give you small kisses on the cheeks, shoulders, forehead, hands and head. Even when he's pissed with you as well, but he could care less.

When you've been crying more than two hours, he tries to settle you down with little comforting words about what you're upset about. He obviously hates when you cry for so long that he thinks it's kind of ridiculous, but he loves you, so it's fair.

He thinks you're better with him than any human being out there, because he's just the best, in his opinion.

you could never tell from the outside with his stoic demeanor, but he gets extremely overprotective of you, almost possessive

he earned you himself, he’s keeping his rights

however, if it’s you who appears to be making the advance onto another man, he’ll silently sneak up behind you, then clear his throat to make his presence known loud and clear

his intimidating aura is thick enough to make you freeze up mid-sentence

it’s so intense, it’s almost tangible

and the person you were talking to has already turned on their heel and darted away with their tail tucked between their legs

as soon as they’re out of your sight, kishibe will immediately drag you over to a secluded area, away from prying eyes

he needs to make sure he marks his territory in case this ever happens again

let’s just say the next day, you’re going to have to wear some long sleeves 😭

his lilting voice will make your veins run ice cold, even if you were doing the most innocent of things

his jovial tone contrasted eerily with his cautioning words is enough to send shivers down your spine

and he’s giving you and your buddy a close-eyed grin, which terrifies you both even more

after the poor, trembling man has profusely apologized and made his escape, yoshida’s typical cheerful demeanor will shift to a darker expression

the change isn’t that drastic, but it still scares you because he almost never looks this bitter

it’s a calm kind of anger, where his eyebrows will draw in slightly and his eyes will darken, his smile straightening out

then he’ll draw you into him by the waist, his nimble fingers just slightly trailing up your shirt and on the bare of your back teasingly

he’ll lean in close until his lips gingerly brush the tip of your ear, sending goosebumps all over your body as he whispers:

“don’t go talking to other boys now, hm?”

those words alone are enough to keep you from even thinking about another man again T-T
