I've been getting back into digital art and decided to finally draw what I imagine when I write Shadow Of A Bluejay
Featuring a teaser for the next chapter "Performance"
I'm getting to the end of season 1, (though I'm moving so it's taking a while) and I wanted to have a reference for the outfits. Obviously, you can imagine it however you like. That's why I try to keep it vague and I don't describe their actual physical appearance.

Summary:
The room is dimmed only slightly, still bright enough to make you squint. The first thing you see is Nightwing’s worried face hovering above you, wearing those stupid dark sunglasses of his. There’s no way he can see anything through those, even if they are some sort of fancy Batman tech. Also, they look pretty ridiculous.
Coming Out By Bleeding Out - Young Justice Imagine
Requested by Anon - If you're comfortable with it, maybe something with the S1 team where FTM!reader gets hurt on a mission and when they take him to the med-bay to patch him up he refuses to take off his suit, and the team is freaking out bc *Y/N you're gonna bleed out--* when he finally takes it off they see he has top surgery scars and he tells them he didn't want them to find out he was trans because he'd had some bad experiences with coming out before and its just some good platonic hurt/comfort💞 thanks✨!!
Requested by Anon - can you please write something with a trans!reader who is nervous about telling the team since people hadn't been accepting before? I'm kinda in a similar situation rn and your writing always cheers me up :)) also sorry if i made any grammar mistakes, english isn't my first language lol😂 thanks in advance!!!!❤❤ ❤❤
Author’s Note - For the second Anon, if you wanted a story with a MTF!reader, please send in another request and I’ll do that for you. I just figured since both prompts had similar themes of coming out that I would combine them.

“Stay awake, (Y/N),” Artemis ordered as she put pressure on your gunshot wound. You moaned, sleep pulling at you.
“I’ll try.” Pain seared through your body when Artemis pressed down harder. Black swarmed your vision.
Kaldur came into your sight, taking over for Artemis. “We’re about five minutes out, (Y/N). Stay awake.”
“I think I might hurl,” Wally exclaimed when he got a peek at the blood soaked bandage.
“Shut up, baywatch.” Artemis smacked him away. “You have no room to comment when (Y/N) took the shot for you.”
“That wasn’t me! Rob was the one that was about to be shot,” Wally protested, moving away.
“Who cares?” You moaned, closing your eyes. There was a hard tap on your cheek. You forced your eyes open to see Conner glaring down at you.
“Stay awake.” He snorted.
You hummed. Pain rocked through you again. “We’re almost there,” M’gann shouted.
Everything blurred together. You felt yourself being moved. Pain shot through your body. You heard Kaldur explaining the situation to Red Tornado.
You were laid down. Your heart skipped a beat when you felt someone start to pull up your shirt. “No!” Your hands gripped the edge of your shirt, keeping it down. Fear made your blood run cold. You saw the rest of the team was still in the room with Red Tornado standing over you.
“(Y/N), I must take your shirt off to see the wound,” Red Tornado explained.
“No, no, no.” The pain disappeared as you kept a tight grip on your shirt.
“(Y/N), you are bleeding out, we have to take your shirt off,” Kaldur soothed, coming to your side.
“It will be fine.” Red Tornado attempted to take off your shirt again, but your grip was too strong. “(Y/N), your resistance will only cause you to lose more blood.”
You shook your head. The fear made you more aware. They didn’t have to worry about you falling asleep anymore. “No, leave me alone!”
“Take the shirt off, (Y/N)!” Conner snapped, tired of it. M’gann touched his arm.
“(Y/N), why are you scared?” M’gann asked, frowning. You felt her reading your mind. The horror of the team finding out this way chilled you to the bone. You weren’t ready to come out to the team. They would reject you like how you were rejected before.
More blood gushed from your wound. You felt lightheaded. “No, don’t.” You collapsed back into the bed. All you saw was black.
***
You woke up to bright lights. Panic filled you as the memory came back. You reached to touch your chest, relieved to find you were wearing a shirt. However, the horror set in when you realized it was a different shirt. They had taken off your shirt.
“(Y/N), you’re awake,” Dick said, perking up from the chair beside you. You flinched, staring at him in horror. “Woah, hey you’re fine.”
Your mouth went dry, terrified out of your mind. You didn’t want to be kicked off the team. They were your friends. You couldn’t stand the idea of them throwing you out.
Dick held up his hands. “Hey, you’re fine, (Y/N). You lost a lot of blood and you’ll have to heal, but there’s no permanent damage.”
You covered your face with your hands, wincing when the IV pulled slightly at your movement. Dick eyed you before leaving the room. You couldn’t move your hands away from your face even after you heard the others filing in.
“(Y/N), my dude,” Wally said with a bright smile on his face. “I’m so glad you’re awake. We thought we lost you, man.” He plopped down beside you, making himself comfortable. You stared at him in shock.
“You scared us to death,” Artemis added, slapping Wally’s arm. “Give (Y/N) space, baywatch. He doesn’t need you crowding him out of his own bed.”
“(Y/N) doesn’t mind. We’re buds.” Wally nudged you with his elbow, giving you a smirk. You were still staring at him with wide eyes. None of this was making sense.
Swallowing hard, you were able to wet your throat. “You don’t care?”
Wally and Artemis looked confused. “What do you mean we don’t care? Of course, we care. Why else would we save you?” Conner said, frowning.
You snorted at the irony that you would have to bring this up. “About my scars?”
“Of course, we care,” Kaldur said calmly. “You are our friend.”
You blinked in disbelief. This wasn’t what you expected. “You mean it doesn’t bother any of you that I’m trans?” You looked around at everyone, meeting each of their gazes.
Dick shrugged. “No, I mean you’re a cool guy that took a bullet for me and Wally. Can’t complain about that. I’m whelmed.” He laughed his signature creepy laugh. Your heart soared. A smile pulled at your lips.
M’gann gave you a bright smile. “You’re our friend, and I think I speak for everyone when I say this changes nothing.”
“Yeah, doesn’t change a thing,” Wally said, wrapping his arm around your shoulders.
Artemis snorted. “Yeah, like we didn’t have to explain what top surgery was.” She slapped Wally’s head. Wally whined.
“Sorry that I don’t know everything.” Wally glared at her, but turned back to you a moment later. “But I’m willing to learn what I need to know.” You turned away, tears in your eyes. “Hey, don’t cry. You’ll make Artemis cry.”
Artemis snorted. You ran a hand over your face, getting control of yourself. “I just expected you guys to hate me,” you explained. “When I came out before, everyone treated it like a joke. No one would use my correct pronouns and don’t get me started on the bathroom...” A sob escaped you.
Kaldur came up to pat your leg while Wally hugged you. M’gann joined the hug a moment later. “We respect you, (Y/N),” Kaldur said quietly.
“Thank you.” You sniffled, trying to stop yourself.
“But if you refuse to take your shirt off again when you’re bleeding out, we’ll kill you,” Dick said. The mood lightened. You laughed along with everyone else. The relief rushed through you and you realized the best friends you had ever had were the ones standing around you.
Ask: What would it be like to be the parental figure of Young Justice.
Well Anon, I got a little carried away with this ask, but I enjoyed doing it.
You weren’t sure how it happened. It wasn’t that you were complaining, you enjoyed it, but you just weren’t sure how it had happened. Probably because of Bruce’s bleeding heart. He picked up children like they were collectables.
You only became the ‘Teen Justice Mom’ because you didn’t like the idea of a group of teenagers running their own team and fighting villains. So you and Bruce started you open door policies, if anyone needed to talk both of you were available.
You honestly weren’t expecting any of the kids to take you up on your offer, but one night at midnight you heard a crash in your apartment, startling you out of bed. You ran out of your room to see Artemis desperately trying to clean up the nick-nacks that had been on your window sill. You opened your mouth to say something, anything really, but Artemis just said, “I thought you and the Batman were together.”
“We are.” You said, “Just not living together quiet yet.”
“Not getting too attached. Smart.” Artemis deadpanned.
“Is there a reason you came here?” You asked.
That took Artemis a little off guard, she shifted from one foot to another and looked down. The blush coloring her cheeks, told you not to look at her.
“You said you had an open door policy.” Artemis said softly, and you smiled at that.
“How about I make you some hot chocolate, and then we can talk.” You busied yourself, walking past Artemis into your kitchen to pull out the mugs and the cocoa. “I find that everything is better with hot chocolate.”
Artemis followed you into the kitchen with tear-filled eyes, and nodded.
From that day on you got at least a weekly visit from a member of the Young Justice team. And even though they woke you in the middle of the night after a long day of crime fighting, you actually really liked it. You liked taking on a caring role, you liked knowing that you were the one that people could turn to.
When Conner came for the first time, everything changed. There was a knock on your door a ten pm just as you were getting ready to sleep.
Opening the door revealed a sniveling Conner, he looked so broken and even though he was taller than you, he looked so small.
“He doesn’t want me.” Conner said in lew of a greeting, and your heart shattered into a million pieces. You knew that Conner was talking about Clark, the man who should be taking care of Conner.
You did the only thing you could do, you pulled Conner into a tight hug, pulling him into your apartment. The boy crumpled into you and began to sob, his entire body shaking with the heaves. You said nothing, just held him as he cried.
Finally the sobs died away and Conner whipped his teary eyes, “I should probably get back to Mount Justice.”
And the thought of him going back to being mostly alone, surrounded by futuristic walls instead of a loving home hurt you more than it should. You had started doing this because you wanted to be kind, not because you were expecting to get emotionally attached to these kids.
“I have a spare room. Spend the night.” You insisted.
Conner looked shocked, as if no one had ever offered him something like this before, and it made you want to cry. You showed him to your guest room, and watched as he slipped under the covers and fell asleep, with a strange feeling in your chest. It was a warm and good feeling, you smiled closing the door softly and then returning to your room.
You awoke early the next morning to make pancakes, and Conner had that same look of innocent amazement that made your heart shatter a million times over.
From that night on you home became open to those who needed a place to stay, and never was your guest room empty. Most nights it was Conner who slept over, but Megan and Kaldur were also frequent guests. There was a night that the three of them all wanted to stay over, so you took the couch and Megan slept floating in mid air.
You never would have thought that you would like a full house, but you surprisingly did. You liked falling asleep knowing where one of your- not yours, one of the kids- were at all times. You liked the even breathing that echoed around the house, and made it seem less lonely and empty.
It was early one morning, Artemis had spent the night, and you had no work so you were content to sleep in a little, but your plans were interrupted by a frantic knock on your door. Slowly you meandered to the door, seeing that Artemis too was roused by your early morning guest.
You swung open the door to reveal Dick. He didn’t come over often, because you were his dad’s girlfriend. You always assumed it was uncomfortable and you didn’t want to make Dick uncomfortable.
“Hey,” You said carefully looking Dick up and down. He was wearing street clothes, and looked like he had been crying all night.
“I didn’t know where else to go.” Dick said, and he flung his arms around your waist. You were surprised, the young boy tried to stayed as composed as he could, never did he show an emotion that wasn’t stoic or joking. You placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Y/N?” Artemis asked from behind you, staring at Dick, “Who’s that?”
You forgot that Bruce wanted to keep Dick’s identity from the rest of the team. You opened your mouth and then closed it again not sure how to respond.
“She’s my dad’s girlfriend.” Dick said before you could think of a lie.
“No,” Artemis spoke through gritted teeth, “Y/N is dating the Batman.”
“This is not the time.” You interrupted, knowing that Artemis would figure it out. She is smart, but her mind right now is dulled by sleep.
You lead Dick into the apartment and let him cry it out. After a little while he stopped crying, stopped shakily trying to explain his trip to the circus.
“How about we make breakfast, invite over the whole team.” Artemis asked, she figured out who Dick was. Knew that he was their small Robin.
You smiled, but let Dick make the decision.
You got up to start the pancakes as the rest of the kids arrived. You made as many as you could, because Wally was coming over, and that boy could eat.
The kitchen was alive with laughter and the smell of breakfast treats. Megan was helping to bake while simultaneously getting flour all over Connor’s face. Kaldur was also trying to help, despite how bad he was at it.
There was a knock at your front door, and you handed the spatula off to Kaldur, knowing it would be burnt as soon as you came back.
You swung open the door to see Bruce.
Bruce didn’t really know about how often the kid’s used your open door policy. You never felt the need to explain it to him. But when he saw the entire Young Justice team in your apartment he looked surprised.
“I was-” Bruce started then stopped himself, so that he sounded gruffer and more like Batman, “The entire Young Justice team is in trouble for ditching morning practice.”
The kids looked up at Bruce, reacting to his Batman voice. They all looked scared, and you could tell that Wally would throw hands if he didn’t get his pancakes.
“Well if I see any of them I will send them back to Mount Justice.” You said with a smile.
“As will I.” Bruce smiled teasingly.
You laughed at the sigh of relief that came from behind you. You reached up to give Bruce a soft sweet kiss, a thank you for not spoiling your fun with the children.
There were a chorus’ of ‘ew’ again.
“Wanna come in and eat breakfast with us? I have an open door policy.”
Request: Can I request a Jaime Reyes x Reader where he takes his girlfriend to meet his skater friends in El Paso, and they end up not really liking her and be mean to her (but Jaime does not realize) and the reader fake smiles here way through it. Late Jaime hears her talking about it to Artemis. Thanks

You had been excited for today. You’d baked cookies in an act of good faith, only to have that plan backfire. You knew Jaime was excited for you to meet his friends out in El Paso, and he was overjoyed to know that your best cookies were coming along for the trip too.
You tried to be yourself around his friends, asking questions and trying to genuinely get to know them better. They rebuffed every effort, rolling their eyes as if you’d asked the most obvious things about them. No matter how hard you tried, they had no interest in welcoming you or supporting your relationship.
Jaime knew it was tough for you sometimes, being one of the members on the team who didn’t have a family to go home to after a mission. You made the most out of your chosen family of teammates, but it still wasn’t the same.
When you first joined the team, Artemis had taken you under her wing becoming the big sister you always wanted. You went to her with everything, and to her credit, she never seemed to be fed up with helping you. When you got back after having your heart stomped on in El Paso, it was only natural that she was the first person you looked for. The anxiety you’d bottled up before the ‘meet the friends’ event came pouring out as you went through every last interaction of the afternoon and how much aggression had been directed towards you.
“Artemis, I just don’t know what else I could’ve done,” you wept onto her shoulder.
Artemis paused before turning to console you. You’d buried your face into her shoulder, unable to see the stern face she’d given Jaime as he walked into the lounge. For the moment, it would be best for him to digest what he heard and figure out the best way to make it up to you. Knowing he’d already heard how hurt you were by his friends, Jaime decided to stay close when listening to Artemis calm you down.
“It’s not a matter of what you could have or should have done, Y/N,” Artemis said, while rubbing your back. “Not everybody is going to like you, but that doesn’t change how much your friends or your boyfriend love you. In fact, I feel like that it makes how much they love you so much more special. And Jaime’s friends may grow to like you eventually, but right now, my bet is they see you as competition for his time and attention.
“He already spends so much time with the team, they probably think he’s either spending that time with you over them, or that what free time he has outside of the excuse he’s given for team activities he’ll choose to spend with you. They’re afraid of losing their friend, and given how sweet you are, they could probably tell that by driving you away you wouldn’t try to make Jaime choose between them or you.”
“I guess you’re right,” you whispered as you lifted your head from her shoulder. “It doesn’t have to be my fault that they didn’t like me and I’ll just have to keep putting my best foot forward until they can at least treat me with civility.”
You stayed on the couch with Artemis, listening to the newscast playing on the television until you were calmed down enough to be around the rest of the team and your boyfriend. M’gann had been quietly working on tonight’s team dinner in the kitchen area behind the lounge while you worked to get your mind off of what happened in El Paso.
As M’gann called the rest of the team for dinner, you decided this would be the perfect time to have some privacy. You caught Jaime before he made it to the dining room and pulled him aside into a secluded area. You needed to know that his friends’ poor opinions of you weren’t going to change the way he felt about you.
“I know about earlier,” Jaime blurted as you closed the door leading to the bedrooms.
That was enough to bring the tears back once again. You were terrified that one bad interaction was going to cost you the best relationship you’d ever known. “How?” you squeaked out between silent sobs.
“Even if I hadn’t heard you and Artemis when I was walking by, Scarab was quick to point out how uncomfortable you were and your emotional distress. His words, not mine,” Jaime explained. “I think Artemis is on to something about the guys, and it’s not fair to you. You’re the best person I’ve ever met and I know it’s kind of soon to say this, but I love you, Y/N.”
“Please don’t just say that to make me feel better and stop crying,” you pleaded.
“I’m not.” Jaime took your face into his hands, making sure you were looking him straight in the eyes. “I love you, Y/N.”
You flung yourself into Jaime, kissing his cheek. “I love you, too.”
“The guys may be thick headed,” he started. “They’ll either come around on this or they won’t, but I’m not going to let it stop us from being happy. Besides the only other opinion I’d even need is Scarab and he’s trying to make sure I don’t mess this up.”
This is Bart x Reader (: prompt taken from http://coffin-prompts.tumblr.com/post/169416699041/5-000-followers
“And so, you need to be more careful with your relationship.” Red Tornado concludes, as he scolds you and Bart. You’re not a superhero, so being in a relationship with one so blatant about his identity made you an ideal target. This was after the tenth time you had gotten kidnapped by some villain trying to one up the Team, by holding your life on the line. You, however, always kept immensely calm, baffling even Batman, as if you knew you’d never get too much harmed or even killed. As you put it, it defeats the purpose killing you, so you stayed calm. It had nothing to do with the fact you figured out pretty early on in life you have a healing factor. It’s pretty high, in comparison, but you had no other powers, and hadn’t had the opportunity to find some mentor to teach you to be a hero, and so you just kind of shrugged your shoulders and lived a carefree life, making many people, and mainly your parents, immensely stressed. But it came in handy now that you fell for a superhero who’s very active. “Maybe it’d be an idea to pretend to break up for peace sake?” Red Tornado continued and you made a face.
“Nah man, I’m good,” you say nonchalantly, “I don’t mind the risk one bit.” You give a smile and wrap an arm around Bart’s waist, squeezing him slightly.
“And it’s not like we won’t save her every time either.” Bart remarks, with a slight pout as he loops a finger into the belt loop on your jeans. He’s always moving, so it didn’t surprise you as he started drumming his fingers against your butt, not that you mind, much.
“And what happens when you’re on another mission? Or just unable to find her in time?” This time it was Batman who interjected and walked up to you three, crossing his arms once he was in front of you.
You sigh, thinking it’s probably time to let them in on your little secret, “Actually, that won’t be an issue.” You sigh and rest your head on Bart’s shoulder, “I have a healing factor.” You state as cool as a cucumber and give a small smile at the obvious surprise on Batman’s face, and the shocked sound Red Tornado made. This however did speed up Bart’s hand, meaning he was either excited or anxious. “I found out about it as a child, never did anything with it though, seemed like a bit of a hassle. So, no need for worry, I’ll last however long I need to.” You finish and feel your annoyance starting to simmer, Bart’s hand really did not stop.
The three of them stand around for a few moments, seemingly dumbstruck with this information, so you decide to add to your statement, “I am, however, down for some basic training if that eases any minds?” You ask, and feel Bart’s hand slow down a tiny bit.
“That sounds agreeable,” Red Tornado says, “Wouldn’t you say, Batman?”
“Yes, very so indeed.” Batman replies, “Training starts tomorrow, be at the base at 8 am.” He says and walks away.
“Great, that settles things,” Red Tornado says, “I’ll leave you to it.” He then leaves you two staring after them.
“Y/N! Why didn’t you tell me?” Bart exclaims, the drumming getting faster again.
“Well, it never came up.” You shrug and turn to face him, while still holding onto him. “Also, babe, my butt’s not a drum, dude. Could ya not?” He turns red at your words, and stops immediately, removing his hand completely, “Point taken.” He says, and takes you hand, dragging you to the living room to tell the rest of the Team the news.

Red Arrow stood on a rooftop looking out on the city. He needed to blow off some steam, he had a fight with (Y/n). A scream echoed in the streets, he took off running. When he found the source, Red saw a girl cornered by three men. He noticed that she was wearing a uniform and must have been walking home from the school nearby. As he jumped down, he remembered how he had met (Y/n).
~Flashback~
It had been a Friday night, and (Y/n) had been walking home from school after a study session. He had been on patrol that night,, and had heard screams for help. But when he had arrived, (Y/n) had taken down one guy, had had started fighting another. He had jumped down and taken out the third guy. He watched her fight the second guy, taking in her every move, her skill rivaled that of Robin. The only question was, why would she call for help? His question was answered when a little girl stepped out from behind a dumpster. The girl was about six years old, and was an exact copy of (Y/n) but much younger. (Y/n) had looked over at him, and silently thanked him before taking her sister and leaving.
~End Flashback~
After that day, Roy had walked (Y/n) and her sister home, and after a few weeks, Roy had asked (Y/n) on a date. She had accepted, and it didn’t go well, but a second date was more successful. As they spent more and more time together, Roy had asked (Y/n) to patrol with him. At first she refused, but later agreed. Roy finished taking out the men, and started making his way back to his and (Y/n)’s shared apartment. He looked and saw that there was a grocery store across the street that was still open. He made his way over and bought some chocolate and flowers. He wasn’t good with words, but he still wanted to make it up to (Y/n) for the fight. He stopped in front of a bookstore, he looked at the chocolate and flowers in his hands and sighed, what was he thinking? (Y/n) wasn’t just any girl, chocolate flowers would not win her forgiveness. He walked into the bookstore and started looking around. He remembered (Y/n) talking about a series by (F/a), she had just finished the second book, and wanted the third. He found the book, and payed. He quickly made his way back to the apartment, he was greeted by the sound of (S/n)’s laughter making him smile. He put his mask, bow, and quiver into the chest by the door. He walked toward the kitchen passing (S/n) on the couch watching cartoons. He walked into the kitchen, where (Y/n) was cleaning up dinner.
“I’m sorry”
“Roy! You’re back! I’m so sorry, I shouldn't have-”
“(Y/n), I should be the one apologizing, I was wrong”
“No-”
“Are you fighting again?”
“No honey, your big sister and I aren’t fighting anymore”
“Yay! Time for movie night?”
“Yes it is, and I believe that it is your turn to pick something out”
Once (S/n) had left the room, Roy turned back to (Y/n),
“I got you these”
“Is that…”
“Yes, I remembered you wanted it”
“Thank you so much!”
“I love you”
“I love you too”
“Are you gonna kiss?”
“Not anymore, what did you pick out for us to watch?”
(S/n) proudly held up her selected movie, and pulled Roy and (Y/n) to the living room. The trio spent the rest of the night watching movies and enjoying each others company.

It's nothing like the books or tv shows or movies said it would be, when it happens.
It's the middle of the night, they're sitting on a park bench, bruised and bloody and exhausted, with police lights flickering all around. There are people, civilians, gathering to take in the scene, some are snapping sure-to-be-unflattering photos on their phones, while a kind police officer keeps them from approaching the vigilantes directly.
Red Arrow and (Y/S/N) had been planning a movie night, since the rest of the team was away. But when trouble had arisen like it always did, they jumped off into the night to save the world together. Nothing about it was all that unusual, they were just best friends who also happened to be vigilante heroes.
But tonight, when Roy turns with a slight smirk to say something to (Y/N), and she lifts her head to give him a slight, tired, encouraging smile, something changes. Something about the way she's looking at him, the way their body heat mingles in the cold night air, the feel of her leg slightly touching his. Something clicks, fall together, like a puzzle piece sliding into place, and his words die on his lips.
(Y/N) waits, raises her eyebrows, bumps her leg harder against his. “What's the matter, do you have a more severe concussion than I thought?”
He closes his mouth and huffs a laugh, bumping his leg against hers. “Never mind. I'll tell you later when I have the energy to talk.”
(Y/N) nods, glances at the police milling around the scene. “Fine by me. Still up for movie night? No speaking required for that. And it gives us something to watch while we duct tape each other back together.”
It isn't anything like the teen novels and silly romantic comedies. But it happened, definitely, completely, and all at once. They help each other up, wave away the paramedics offering to help, and head for home.
He loves her. He knows that now. And he will tell her later. But for now they walk close and keep each other steady, heading home.
