Got sucked down a YouTube rabbit hole and ended up watching some Hamilton animatics, Helpless really fits Macaque at the beginning of his and Wukong's relationship through them eventually getting married.
He was so head over heels in love with him, it's adorable 🥰
Shame Wukong was lying to him from basically minute 1 of knowing each other. Macaque left his home and family for him and that's how he acts?
I've said before and I'll say it again, Macaque lived an extremely sheltered life until the event that brought him and Wukong together.
Also debating on whether or not to let Mac's twin from Golden Hoop Sash (and pirate AU) live here....
He has a twin because I commit to my bits. She's just usually dead, for the ✨ANGST✨, and his moms to be more protective of him.
If she was dead, they might not be so keen to let Macaque and Wukong get married, since Wukong is an outsider and unless he decides to commit to living with them, they can't take the risk and trust him.

HC that when they were younger and Wukong had just become the monkey king he REALLY wanted a crown but for one reason or another couldn’t get a proper one so Macaque would make him crowns out of all the bits bobs flowers and plants their home provided along with some shiny rocks shells and human stuff he collected. Whenever they started showing signs of wilting or damage he would immediately make a new one his skills improving over time making them increasingly extravagant. Wukong stoped wearing them as much if at all when he meet and joined the brotherhood after some off comment from someone ( probably Peng ) that others agreed with to some degree or laughed along to. There probably wasn’t malicious intent from most of them ( fu Peng) but still.

I love young shadowpeach sm, it brings me joy.
