Intuition is something amazing that so many of us are blessed by, but often we tend to shut it down, and listen to our rational minds, other people's rational minds, yet somehow there is always this quiet voice inside of us that is telling us the truth. Often we don't trust it, or I don't trust it, because I simply think that I making stuff up... but when the feeling doesn't go away, the voice is quiet but never silent... maybe I should really try to pay attention to it. Listen to what it says, even if it is the opposite of everything that everyone around is saying... especially when those words are spoken with the best of intentions. Only we ourselves can know what is right for us, what our truth is, and how we would like to live our lives. Veganism for me is an easy example. I was a vegetarian in the 1990s when there was not a block of tofu to be found in miles, and I became a vegan when it was not yet a hipster thing, but I was the "weirdo of the town". I didn't care, because this is what I felt in my soul to be right. This expands to other aspects of my life, and for me compassion, appreciation, gratitude, joy, and love are the most important aspects of myself that I could ever extend to other people. Regardless of how many say I should perceive certain things... especially when it comes to other people and the human connection. It has and always will be important for me to listen to my heart, because it knows things, way better than my shortsighted mind does. It possesses wisdom, which the mind could never have... it leads me to follow my own path, regardless of what might be generally perceived as right. I can only hope to grow this sense in the years to come. #followyourheart #yourheartknows #compassion #love #philosophy #whatvegansdo
