Hiee!! Me again. For the third time.
I did gay vio! Wanna read? Of course ya do, this is why the ask was put up! Here!
It was the middle of the night at Hyrule Castle, the witching hour to be exact. Everyone was fast asleep. Red curled up in his own bed, Blue spread apart, his snoring being heard from down the hall, and Green curled up with Zelda in her own gigantic room. The only one awake, in the dim castle, was the purple Link. Trying not to make a sound as he whimpered and sobbed in his own room a candle lit on his nightstand.
He felt like a failure. Only now realizing his love for his own gender. Mostly on Shadow. It felt cruel to him. He was knight of Hyrule, for Hylia's sake. His hands trembled as he tried to distract himself with a book. Only to cry harder when it didn't work. It had been almost 2 hours, with this being his third meltdown. His chest ached. His eyes hurt. His body hated every clutch and nail digging wound he gave himself without realizing.
Why couldn't he stop feeling this?
The next thing Vio remembered was curled up in bed, his hair and pillows scattered all over the place. He had clearly cried himself to sleep. Wiping away dried tears, sticky to his face, he got up and gazed in a nearby mirror.
‘Goddesses, I look like a mess.’ He thought to himself, exhausted from staying up so early. Though, he got ready for the day. Coming downstairs for breakfast.
“Morning Vio, ready for our archery later?” Zelda calls out with a warm smile. Vio sighs softly. “Not today, sorry. I have…things to do.” He partly lies. Too tired to do archery, but also had no plans.
“But I thought-” Blue spoke up, before shutting up when Vio gave a stern look. Rolling his eyes and shoving a waffle into his mouth.
Vio quickly stored it in the kitchen, leaving Red worried and Green confused. Green still had his pajamas on, sitting next to Zelda.
“How was it?” Blue teased
“Being with the princess, in her room?” Blue adds, smirking even more as Vio comes in. Silently sitting down and starting to eat.
“Oh Shut up.” Green groans, shoving Blue as he belly laughs at the response.
By mid-day, Vio was still in a nearby garden. He had been plucking flowers, playing the ‘love me, love me not’ game with Shadow's feelings. Each petal feeling like a lie.
By the 5th flower, Vio was starting to cry once again. The cruel feeling coming back to his chest. Covering his face in despair, he let the flower fall to his bare feet while he sobbed quietly.
“Hey, Vio?” A voice called out. Vio gazed up lightly, noticing Red. “You okay? I heard you crying last night.”
Vio sniffles quietly, turning his puffy face away. “I'm fine.” He croaks out, clearly lying.
“Come on, tell me. I tell you a lot of things, you can trust me.” Red pushes lightly. Just as Vio sniffles again.
Tears immediately started pouring down his face again, which felt like the umpteenth time. Red sat beside him, letting his brother cry it out. Eventually, Vio sputters out through a hiccuped sob and trembling lips “I like Shadow. I like boys.”
Red freezes, gazing at Vio. Then a smile comes on his face. “Awwe, that's sweet!”
Vio freezes, looking at Red. “You…?” Red looks back, confused. “What? I'm fine with it. I find boys kind of cute, myself. No judgement here.”
Vio shares back, but eventually cracks his first smile of the day, his tears turning from sadness to relief, bringing his brother into a hug. “Thank you…I-....thank you…” Vio whispers, unable to explain the relief of acceptance his family had given him.
It was near evening, by the time post dinner rolled around. Red was crocheting on the floor, muttering a small song he loved while making a plush. Green and Blue were playing a board game, and their father was on the couch. Vio walked in shortly after, heading straight to his dad.
“Uhm…father. I need to tell you something…” Vio mutters, his heart racing in his chest. His dad turned over, waiting for his son to continue. Green and blue had gazed over, but Red didn't look up.
“I'm…into boys. I like them.” Vio spills, waiting for a reply. His heart was racing, his mind planning for judgment, insults, scolds and scoffs, but Blue interrupted with such an expected scoff.
“And I take the green twisties from markets when we go, big deal.” he adds in, like they were saying likes and dislikes. Vio gazes over “what?” He asks his sibling.
“Yeah. By now, I think everyone knows, Vio.” Blue reveals. “Don't think I noticed the light eyeshadow you put on yourself, or that time you got pampered up for something small.”
Vio went a crimson red, not realizing till now how horrible he hid his likings for his own gender. But, he was glad his family accepted him.
“You gotta hide things better, just an F. Y. I.” Blue adds in, making his move on the board game.
Red gazes up, just in time as Vio scoffs. “Oh please, I hide things well. Just not this one.”
“Blah blah blah - GO, YOU GREEN FUCK!” Blue rages, Green smirking as he takes his time on his turn.
This wasn't how Vio imagined it. But he wasn't complaining. Sitting by Zelda, he grabbed a book from the nearby coffee table, and started reading.
Feeling accepted for his life
This is so good. Like I literally paused everything I was doing to read this. It immediately hooked me. Vio’s self-deprecation is so sad but also so real and OUGH when Red gave him the acceptance he was afraid to ask for?? SO SWEET I COULD DIE.
And the way Blue’s just like “yeah no shit gay boi GREEN TAKE YOUR FUCKING MOVE” was chef’s kiss lmao!!
Also can I just add that the Green x Zelda was so cute also?? I loved it ehehe!! My first fav FS ship is Vio x Shadow and my second is 100% Green x Zelda so this was like ✨the perfect fic✨
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WRITING THIS MARS!! IT’S SO GOOD I LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH!!!
