Wonders - Travel to undiscovered

Pixel art for today based on videogame Dark Ages volume 1 prince of destiny for computer system PC MS Dos. Before our eyes, some fantasy adventure. And this is main hero runs somewhere forward. He is crawling through the forest and field. Bridge. Water. Everything is so different. And fantasy. Ahead -it is magic and spells! Time of fantasy. Or somewhere near, is it a Jill from Jungle? A little looks similar.

Abd this is my drawing based on Dark Ages (Ms Dos). It is lost a crystal of time.   And brave traveler is going to bring it back. He need to go through forest of wonders. It is first obstacle. And there – to find a hatch of a Witch. To ask him – what place to go next. Witch will need to look at foggy ball. His house at the edge of the forest. In a swamp and a fog.

Next, there are different places. They are mountains.  Turns of wonder. Or sand. Sand of world creation. There are legends. That world was created from sand and time. And labyrinth of time. Which shows a beam at the stars and the moon. But this is very far away from here. Lets have a hope, that crystal is near. In a forest or swamp.

This looks like arcade. Maybe not fast. And, with elements of role playing like Zeliard. Or like fantasy quests by Sierra. Kings Quest. Or Quest for Glory. Which were with VGA graphics or EGA. It is only good to train programming! And it will be possible lots of stuff!

Zeliard

In 1986 Ken Williams travelled to Japan to sell licenses to Sierra On-line games, and during the stay he acquired the rights from Game Arts to publish a MS-DOS port of their action platformer Thexder. In the coming years, Sierra would port a number of a Japanese games including three additional Game Arts titles: Fire Hawk:Thexder 2, the shoot-em-up Silpheed, and the action-RPG Zeliard. Common to all of these titles are that they are microcomputer games (and stayed on those systems with the single exception of a Thexder port for the Famicom) that play and feel a lot like console games. Zeliard is a side-scrolling action-RPG with a leveling system and a lot of focus on experience point grinding. It was Game Arts third game and their first RPG, and in many ways their first step towards their later RPG productions such as the Lunar and Grandia series. Zeliard was released more or less exactly in between two of the seminal examples of the genre, Zelda II (January 1987) and Ys III (1989), but has remained in the shadow of more popular games due to its computer exclusivity and relentless difficulty curve.

DAY 1261) Zeliard - World of Decay

Composer: Fumihito Kasatani, Hibiki Godai, Masakuni Mitsuhashi, Mecano Associates, Nobuyuki Aoshima

Even if this is mostly just 4/4 it is VERY WEIRD 4/4. So many different possible interpretations “start points” of different lines and tonally this is weird as fuck.

The odd time here is 4 bars of 7/8 time at :51. It feels pretty natural to transition into given the weirdness of everything else and the 7+9 feeling the 4/4 parts have.
