If hippos can run faster than humans on land and swim faster than humans in water, the bicycle is the only chance of beating a hippo in a triathlon.

Zero Conditional / Snowbaz AU fic
It wasn't supposed to rain today. On his way home from work in a deluge, Baz takes cover in a run-down bus shelter, cursing the weatherman and waiting for the worst of it to pass. It's a good opportunity for him to be alone and review grammar points for tomorrow's English lesson...but his colleague and unrequited work crush, Simon Snow, has other ideas.
I know who it is. I know who’s here to interrupt me, to plague me, to haunt me, as he always does.
Simon Snow.
If there's anyone out there, it's you.

Hello, back again. Zero Conditional please?
💖!!! Thank you!
I had the rain-bus-grammar idea planned out, but when imagining what would actually happen, I did have a vision of Baz trapped in the bus shelter with Simon whilst he tormented him with an ominous Marmite-finger. And thus began the task of writing Baz into that very dark, terrible corner. 😂 (Sorry, Baz.)
From this ask game: send me a fic title and I’ll tell you which scene was THAT SCENE, the one that prompted the rest of the fic.
You need to be racing a hippo on a bike if you want to beat it in the triathlon.
Structure: "If Present Simple, Present Simple" or "Present Simple if Present Simple."
That's a complicated way of putting it.
