Being 25 is so weird bc what do you mean i am doing my masters and living with my parents while my friends are living with their s/o and talking marriage? How do they even afford that? And you have all these adult decisions to make and plan ahead, but you don't know who you want to be or what you want to do.

Like how do I know if i like a person!? How do people casually date? How do people manage their finances and plan big trips and doctor appointments?? I wanna read gay books and practice the piano, i don't want this perceived societal pressure please.

The dreaded phone calls

They're unfortunately unavoidable in many cases. But to get through these I've got a routine for them.

CHEAT SHEET, Get yourself a cheat sheet. Personally I NEED them for most phone calls because otherwise I'll get tongue tied when asked a question.

Figure out what you'll need for the phone call, usually for work stuff I'll have a document open on my tablet (notebook also works)

So: Name,phone number,email address,home address (street, city,state,zip code).

Get into a quiet space, get some water, and make the call. If you work retail, get your customer service voice (for some reason it helps me)

When they answer, start with your name, and the reason you're calling. After that, it's pretty easy if you've got the cheat sheet.

Also, have something to write with nearby, because you'll probably have to write something.
