The kind of changes that are so slow that they’re undetectable until one sees a photo of the zoan wielder from several years prior. The kind of changes that a friend who goes away for years and comes back will see like night and day.
Ears that develop a point. Teeth that sharpen. Claws that lengthen. Pupils that contract into slits. Fur, feathers, or scales that fade in along the hairline and disappear into the locks.
Hunting urges when something moves quickly in one’s periphery. Nest building, den keeping. Taking meals up in the trees. Basking. Hibernation. Very much non-human behaviors.
