It had been a long long day and you were exhausted.
Every single movement you made was somehow felt even till the deepest parts of your body and bones. The worst part was that you were in college and your pack was further away than you’d ever have been from them.
It was excruciating that you couldn’t just call them up and get them over in the drop of a hat. Or just return to the actual wolf den so you wouldn’t even have to call them, they’d be right next to you or home soon.
No, you had to shuffle into your dorm and fall onto your bed, the silence slowly starting to surround you. Usually it was comfortable, even relieving at times, but now it was grating. So much so that it felt like an itch you couldn’t quite scratch.
And all you could do was keep laying on your bed, barely having the energy to turn yourself around let alone change into more comfortable clothing. It wasn’t often that you felt this way, but today was simply way too overstimulating.
You had stress about a test coming up and you’re pretty sure you flunked one earlier today, there’s been a million worries that have been rolling around in your head, you haven’t been able to do anything to relieve stress without feeling guilty lately and on top of that today was loud annoying and everything was too bright and-
There was a knock at the door. Today of all times there was a knock on your dorm.
For a moment you just kept laying in your bed, hoping the person at your door would just take the hint and go away.
It didn’t seem like the stranger on the other side was on the same wavelength as you. Instead there was a louder more insistent knock.
With a deep sigh and a slight groan you slowly pushed yourself up on your bed, trying to find remaining strength in your body to actually get up and walk to the door. You couldn’t even bring yourself to properly lift your legs to walk to the door, instead you did this little shuffle that every exhausted person had done at least once in their life.
When getting to the door you slowly put your hand on the handle and wondered if social interaction would even be worth it, but if you didn’t figure out who it was then you would maybe fuck over one of your relationships with your friends or classmates if you didn’t open it right now.
So you slowly turned the handle and opened the door. For a moment you stared blankly at the three figures in front of you; not entirely sure if what you were seeing was correct.
That’s when your brain finally caught up and processed the three figures that were standing in front of you were the three pack members you mostly talked to: Your alpha Willa, her brother Wyatt and the adorable Wynter.
Instead of being excited to see them; you narrowed your eyes and frowned slightly at them. Not out of irritation, but simply due to the fact that you couldn’t figure out the reason the three were standing at the door of your dorm room so suddenly.
They hadn’t texted, they hadn’t really said anything to you about visiting. So essentially you had a loading screen plastered on your forehead as your exhausted brain tried to work overtime in trying to figure out why this was currently happening.
“Are you actually going to let us in? Or are you just going to stand there staring at us forever?” Willa spoke up, crossing her arms as she cocked her hip to the side. Clearly she wasn’t very amused, but then again she often acted like this whenever she was worried.
Meanwhile Wyatt gave her a glance, before looking at you. “We haven’t heard from you in a bit so we wanted to check up on you.” You never knew how Wyatt did it, but usually when he explained things to you, it just made sense.
Right now this was a god send as it actually helped you process what he was saying. With some more sluggish movements, you stepped out of the way and let the three werewolves. Then you closed the door behind them and kind of stood there unsure of what to do now those three were here.
You were just about to pass out on your bed and sleep for as long as you could and now with the new guests you couldn’t exactly do this. So you just stood there awkwardly, until Willa sighed deeply.
“Okay you’re clearly exhausted. C’mon, cuddle pile it is.” She said as she grabbed your arm and started to drag you to the bed. You had barely processed what she said until she had forced you to sit on the bed.
While Willa walked away to possibly get you some comfortable clothes as well as for herself and the other two. Wyatt went to the kitchen to grab some snacks and water for when you woke up or when they were curled up around you so they could talk.
Wynter in the meantime smiled as she sat next to you. “I’m assuming college is really kicking your ass?” She asked, head tilted to the side with her little smile that you have grown to love dearly.
You couldn’t help the soft smile that slowly came on your face as you slowly nodded. “Yeah and not a little bit either. Very overwhelming.” You faltered all of the worries and anxiety that have been building up slowly bubbling up in your stomach, threatening to spill over in a full on panic attack.
The werewolf next to you seemed to sense it as her face fell into a worried expression and her body leaned against you, taking you into a hug. The moment you felt her arms around you, you couldn’t hold back the feelings that came rushing forwards.
Like a bag of bricks you fell into her as a sob wrecked through your body. Instantly you felt Wynter’s arms tightening around you, holding you closer to her body as you unloaded all of the feelings that had been stuck in your chest for weeks.
Sobs wrecked your body as you dug your face into Wynter’s neck. Soon enough you felt two pairs of arms surrounding you too and although you could logically guess who were there, you were too busy sobbing. All your mind could register was that you were in the company of your pack, the ones that would always look over you and wouldn’t let you go for anything in the world.
Safety was a feeling that wrapped you up in a blanket as their warmth slowly leaked into your bones as you were held while you cried. They didn’t speak, letting you let it all out as your stress slowly melted away.
After a bit you felt dry, like all the tears you could possibly cry had all run out. You sniffed as you slowly pulled away from Wynter who didn’t have a single look of pity or judgment on her face. Just soft eyes that were looking you up and down, seeing if you were doing better now.
What you did. At least it didn’t feel like a big pressure on your lungs anymore so it was definitely a win in your book.
Willa hummed from behind you and threw you some of your favorite comfortable clothes at you from your closet. “Get changed, after you don’t have to do anything else.” She simply said, clearly not leaving anything up in the air as she was one of the first people that would tell you to take care of yourself.
Wyatt in the meantime helped you out and the three werewolves also stole some of your clothes for themselves. Or were they their own clothes that got mixed up with yours ages ago? Either way they fitted well enough and you decided to not let your tired brain question anything else.
You were finally in some comfortable clothes in your warm bed surrounded by your favorite people in the entire world and you felt fine. A movie was playing in the background that you didn’t quite know when it had been put on in the first place, but you didn’t really question it.
Instead you curled up in your bed, the way you always knew would knock you out and closed your eyes as the other three wrapped themselves around you into a cuddlepile with you in the middle of them.
Wyatt still sat up straight, clearly watching the movie that was put on as he reached down and gave you a soft kiss on your head, before starting to massage your scalp softly to help your tired brain slowly turn off.
Willa was laying down in a way that made her able to still watch the tv in your dorm as well, but was curled around you in a protective manner. She took her role as the alpha very seriously, even more so when it came to you as she wanted to make sure you were protected at all costs.
Lastly Wynter had nuzzled against your front, fully letting herself be used as a giant teddy bear for you. Holding you in the way you liked and letting you hold her in the way that made you feel completely at peace.
The rest kind of felt blurry as you felt yourself slowly sleep in the arms of three of the most important people in your life, knowing everything would be okay as they would always be there for you, even if they weren’t as physically close as they used to be before.
